You could do that till you can make tanin or look at some of the pots that use extracted ingredients

For additional crafting bonus, if you craft something with less then 50 skill requirement to make, you will obtain a skill bonus and will get skill in less attempts then if you were over the skill bonus. An example is shaman shoes, with less then 67.9 skill you will obtain a skill bonus, however once you hit 68 skill you will lose the skill bonus and will gain skill at the same speed as if you were making cheap shoes (0 skill requirement)

the bit above was taken right out of the updated soma manual

To give you an example of this for pot crafting then you should craft

Name Skill Weight Materials

+10 HP 0 1 1 Wolf Liver | 1 Leocrot Horns till 50 skill
+25 HP 7 1 4 Wolf Livers | 2 Leocrot Horns till 57 skill or
+25 MP 7 1 2 Wolf Livers | 4 Leocrot Horns till 57 skill
+100 MP 40 3 4 Wolf Livers | 4 Leocrot Horns, 4 Blue Flavour, 1 Red Bean

Make the +100 mp till 90 skill and at this stage you will no longer get any crafting bonus so I would personally start making more of the +25 mp or hp pots because you can use them rather than the crappy beginner ones
Doing it this way will be best for skill.. I did not make them this way I went straight to making the +25 mp pots as soon as I could because I wanted to make something I could use.

Hope this helps

tanning could be made at 40 skill also I believe didn't want to include it as I did not have the skill requirement written down anywhere but if you want to make tannin i will buy all you make off of you for more than the npc will take :D
