original is 800x600 and has an aspect ration of 4:3 sticking with a 4:3 ration should be the most stable.

4:3 aspect ratio resolutions: 640×480, 800×600, 960×720, 1024×768, 1280×960, 1400×1050, 1440×1080 , 1600×1200, 1856×1392, 1920×1440, and 2048×1536.

I use 1024x768. It gives you all the range you need from spells and doesnt make the characters look like ants on a football pitch.

I think the higher you go the less stable the game is and more visual bugs occur too.

Screen size has nothing to do with resolution. If it's full HD it'll be 1920x1080.

^ there's an option under compatibility when you right click the shortcut and go to properties. Something like scaling for large dpi screens. Turn it off and it will fix this
