Guide to skin changing

little guide on how to change your mob skin.

bit of background knowledge (as much as i understand anyways)
when you create a mob in the database you assign a man number to it, the man files are located in the game on your come so c/soma or whatever yours is.

so say ab for example is Man15000 (its not i dont thinkjust using it as an example) their are 5 shockwave flash files per mob with corresponding beginning number so the others would be MAN15004 /15007/150013/150015

so how to start
1) pick a mob you want to change
2) find it (this is the hard bit, their is a system to the numbers i think but im not too sure on it, use the soma vision that gump posted in the thread and you can skip through and view the mobs, (you can make changes to mobs in that tool also (color ect)
3) once you found your number then go in c/soma/man and sort the folder by the number, taking our example again of Man15000 you will find 10 files - of which their will be 2 of each type of man 00/04/07/13 ect. remove these and paste them into an empty folder on your desktop
4)next you find a skin you want (you may find it while looking for the mob you want to change so make note of the number) (use image viewer to find) once you have found the skin you want go back into c/soma and sort again by man number so they are in order and then copy and paste the 10 files of that mob type to another new folder.
5) rename the file numbers of the new skin to be the same as that of the old skin.
so if we are changing ab skin to say devil warrior skin
if ab = Man 15000 ect and dw =01200
then you would rename the dw file 15000 if it had 0
you would rename 1204 to 15004
rename 1207 to 15007
ect ect

and remember their will be two of each type of file

so in the end you have a set of dw files which are renamed to what the ab file is
therefore as the server picks up the id from your computer, the mob in game would be shown as a dw and not ab any more

hope that helps

regards
takeshi

soon everyone will be running around with bric WBC's in pit to prevent accidental tag, and WBC prisms/wraiths/anything that requires attention to hit.

Is there any restrictions at all?

ie could I create an even bigger model and use that (by big I man 2x/3x WBC)?
