Nightmare Drops

Author Content Date
It's been on my mind for a while... Why are nightmare drops so crap compared to beast lord guardian?

They're both end game mobs, it makes no sense..

BLG drop: Ruby, SP, DT, EP, Herb
Nightmare drop: Frog

They both drop other things obviously, i'm talking things of value that can actually contribute to upgrades.. It just doesnt seem fair.

Shouldn't it be equal? In the sense that if one was to chose an int route rather than a dex/str one, that they should both have equal opportunities to make upgrades relevant to their build? As far as i'm aware (i could be wrong) you can't make int upgrades from mats like you can for melee, for example ep+sbg = toe = faster wep, k.e can be made from ruby which drop at blg, evasion/accuracy mats can be crafted but the same doesnt exist for int upgrades..

Why?

Either int upgrade stuff like CT, Tow should be made craftable from other materials (if they're not already, as far as i'm aware they're not).. OR.. Nightmares should drop them, ofcourse not at a stupid rate, but atleast a small chance.. Mages move to nightmares at 100 int (ish), cap is 176 int.. Thats a whole lot of nightmares to kill and a whole lot of frogs, but nothing can be done with them to improve the mages gear.

People might say mehhh you can trade the frogs for int upgrade items, thats not the point.. Melee characters don't have to do this, they get the chance to upgrade their items with the drops they get.. It should be the same for mages.

It would be nice to have some added extra's to NM's. Like Donatello says it's tough going to only get frogs for 76int or so.

Abit negative pal.. Thats the reason i'm raising the issue again.

Thats abit of a backwards way of looking at it. Theres still alot of graft at nightmares that will have to be done before a player reaches the point where they could hunt the new mob, with no upgrade potential.

I've seen issues raised multiple times on here and after, changes have been made.

there are a few itemsets that need looking at.

the frustration i find is with the position of 'there's no time to do it' or 'there are bigger priorities'

which is basically saying no without saying no

Biggest priority for gm's and players is proly getting the cap+ live on main server.
There's no major problems such as ''item sets' that take priority imo.
Lets do the important things first and fiddle around with little things later, imo

nms only dropping frogs is one of the reasons i cba to play atm on Sith ... you are forced to hunt magmas for items

That's the hole point of magmas

Why dont ppl actual suggest what nm can drop, going overboard won't get them added (blg drop to much for example)

Hold up, there are two different things here.

Magmas are current end game. They don't give stats and they don't get % they are there for both races

NM's are end game int leveling mobs for hsoma only

They are comparable only to the melee version as stated above

To say BLG drop too much is a nonsense. You don't walk away from every BLG hunt with anything or even every other.

Both drop materials for upgrades as per the theme of most mobs. The proportion of variety and availability is in question over NM and imo it's a fair assessment

An example of what NM could drop would be;

Frogs, herbs, LL, NM gear, warp / vortex (already there I know), tow (to match blg dropping dt) EP, rubies.

Just a suggestion. I understand that only certain mobs dropping items makes an economy for people who don't hunt them, except nm don't drop frogs often enough to buy a medium ruby for the same time it would take for a med ruby to drop at blg.

I'm slightly biased as I've finished my str and I'm now doing int so I'd love to see better drops to better my gear, without them I would need to stop levelling and farm which slows me down completely.

Adding Tow and/or CT, along with spell upgrades would level it out.

Not hard surely.

I hunted 10hrs NMs yday and got 4 frog's. NMs need to be in line with BLG
