Less harsh upgrades

So I've just found out I was given a bit of bad advice (over 100 craft skill in any craft = being able to add PoD to armour on dsoma.) I attempted this twice before questioning whether something was wrong and have lost out on valuable items, kind of my own fault for not making 100% sure but 1) I think it's a bit harsh that if you have insufficient skill to attempt an upgrade you lose the items, and 2) The fact you aren't notified in some way that it failed because you lack the skill to attempt it means you could (as I did), continue to waste items unknowingly.

Basically I just wanted to see if it would be possible to maybe rather than losing items you can't attempt to upgrade, display a message notifying you that you don't have the required skill, or if that's not possible then even you lose the items but get some sort of notification as to what happened?

Just to clear something up, what craft skill do you have ?

It works same as hsoma where you need 100 craft skill in weap/access and armor (when it's added to dsoma )

I have 126 cook skill, but obviously now I know that's irrelevant.
I wish I'd asked here instead of having my items eaten 😕

Hmmmm, I do like the idea of a warning for insufficient skill. This would be a good solution for those upgrades that require 0 skill.
