Direct Sound Error

I often play often while I have wireless headphones connected (Arctis Wireless Pro), sometimes the base station crashes somehow / they auto-turn off (because they are idle to save battery etc) when either happens I get the following errors. Changing sound output device also triggers the error.

The only way to clear is to forcefully terminate the soma process. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this error, it would be good that if I re-connect my headphones that sound still works?

Work around:
Renaming xdsound.dll in client folder will prevent it from loading which will disable music in the game but then will not get the error. Though most of the time when the audio device is lost and then regained SFX in the game will not play until client is restarted.

Hi Fin thanks for this workaround not sure how often I will use that as I often use the sound.

A fix for this issue will be in a client patch soon that will restore both music and sound effects after a device has been lost then re-gained.

I have been re-creating the issue by stopping and starting the Windows Audio service.

Unfortunately while this is effective most of the time it seems that when warping between maps or logging out i get the following, game also hangs for around 5-10 secs before the error appears.
