Couple of Negamare Changes

I've spoken on both worlds about Negamare and why people don't hunt it.

From feedback I've had its mainly the amount of effort to spawn it, and to kill it and weighing it up with drop rates there's a concern it isn't enough.

I'll summarise it as follows :-

5 minutes minimum to pot up / stam food up at T4/T5 and get to the portal by KL/LL. Or 10 minutes for Hsoma with out a portal (Abias Town -> VoD -> portal)
Then 10 minutes to do the crystal race which presents no guarantee of a spawn.
Then you only have at most 2-3 minutes to prepare for Negamare back in TYT/Pand before going back to IC/VOD and getting there from T7-T8 in time for the portal activation.

Before starting Negamare that's a cool 30 minutes.

At this point, can I suggest just moving the PVP / Crystal race portal to TYT/Pand. To encourage 'a race battle'. We can still have the exit portals where they are now but we need to encourage RvR and this race to happen. Right?

If needed, we can then maybe ask for the Negamare portal stone itself being moved...

---

Then Negamare itself.

Devil Soma main complaint is the amount of pots they have to go through. Minions simply do too much damage and number of players at times can make it quite an elongated fight. I'd propose making the boss more scaled for 5 people, rather than 10+. We just don't have the numbers.

I personally think there's too many minions per 'wave' and the 'waves' occur too quickly - the window to attack the boss is pretty tiny. Or again, their damage is too high. It would probably be nicer if they had a lower MA but a higher min damage they will do? If you let a wave spawn on you, you can be dead in 2 seconds.

Also, maybe its an option to allow people to use PVP pots in this map to save on costs?

Human Soma main complaint has been about drops, again probably really about effort versus reward. Hsoma has always been more grindy and in mind their feedback is likely in respect of them grinding on trolls, and the problems with trolls itself. I think they have been focussed on capping first before boss.

Everyone was wanting / expecting / hoping the new weapons to really enter the frey sooner than later which hasn't happened that much but again, feel as though its because people wanted to grind their char more over new weapons.

I would hold fire on changing drop rates until we get more negamare spawns and to do that, I think moving the portal the next step.

Dunno what other people think?

Personally having seen how little damage I do to the minions I'm guessing mages do min damage on the boss (I have taken to just healing others during the minion stage I would guess with weaken it would still take me 4x the amount of hits as mellee), maybe im wrong, I have asked and was told to go find out, how I can find out I dont know.

I think a big part.for me is the time of day t6 falls, with it in mind it's about an hour after to death of negamare, t6 and 9.30 wont work for a lot of people due to them logging off for the night to be up for work early hours, and 5.30 a lot of people will be finishing work, unsure on others views maybe the timer can be moved forward an hour or so

My other gripe is by the looks of gains, I wont be able to use the new staff until I hit level 120, hitting the cap is a target in itself, having something new around 115 would have been better imo, so you can at least get to use it to help with your levelling. Especially considering humans have the requirements by mid 90's?

I also wouldn't change droprate, the fact that it's possible to get 6 boss a day says it would soon flood the market with new weaps, I like the fact they're rare and have to be worked for
We also havent yet seen all the new weaps/drops have we?

Good points there Merlin -

So timings of the U.K. time zone spawns are not ideal.

Maybe bringing the spawn forward to 9pm / 5pm / 1pm / 9am / 5am and 1am spawns - be better.

I think red crystal spawned minions are melee vulnerable and blue might be magic - possibly a mechanic too far for both worlds - with numbers being so little.

What do you think to the idea of the entrance portal for the crystal / RvR Raid to be moved into each races home town? Exit points being same place in IC / VOD?
Would help encourage other people to join.

Personally, I would rather go and do my dailies and level with the short amount of time I get to play. Rather than spend that time at a boss that I'm unlikely to get a drop for and if I did is not really useful anyway. New weps will need to be intense tag to even be considered on dsoma (considering the reqs and the fact we were left on the same wep tier for so long that everyone uses high end intense). Combine tends to take at least 5 epic combines for a success and most people havent got a single rare atm. New tabs are all magic procs so useless to the majority of dsoma.

That said, I do enjoy negas mechanics, it's just a poor time investment atm. So some of foxy's suggestions might alleviate that slightly.

I kinda think new weps should be dropped at low tags from new mobs on dsoma if their requirements stay as they are - requiring a capped char who has to spec wis. Agree with merlin having a half way to cap reward of being able to use a new wep would be a lot nicer and motivate people to level and do nega more often.

I think moving the portal to tyt / pandi would be a nice touch yeah.

As for drop rates etc what we all need to remember is the UC is extremely low at the moment for various reasons. The players we have remaining are trying to cap again. Once people start hitting 120 I recon we will see a lot more completion at negamare. So give it a month or two and we will see negamare being spawned a lot more often along with a healthy flow of rare tag minimum new weaps.

As with everything it all takes time, I highly doubt dan thought from day one we would all be sacrificing 2hours of our day to kill a boss, when we are capped and that time drops to 45mins then quite possibly.
