Dsoma Economy ~

Author Content Date
So, the economy in dsoma needs help.

The current usercount means the economy is awful.
Hardly anyone ever on to trade with, whoever logs on, only logs for gvw, events, neg etc. then logs off again, no leveling, hunting or trading, it's almost impossible to get rid of some items, and obtain others.

It would be nice is something could be done, even if temporary, to help the few players still wanting to trade in dsoma.

Possible solutions:

Up dsoma drop rate globally.
Up dsoma drop rate for certain mobs.
Up dsoma drop rate for certain items.
Create an npc trader/exchanger for items/upgrades, using a community agreed rate of exchange.
Somehow link drop rate to dsoma usercount.

No salt please, just your suggestions/feedback.

I definitely agree we need help.

I like the idea of scaling to current active devil's online.

Maybe look at drop rates of mobs that are wbm upwards?

+1

I also agree that dsoma economy is at its all time low.. and drop should be improved.

I think drop rate should be improved on both side.. x1.5 rate increase sounds good. It just means we get the chance to use anvil to break our shiz more :)

Also +1 from wagawaga he said if we get a good rate "I'll leave my spearfishing and come back" lol

Yes please, maybe we can use special gem to trade for tablets such as DT, red pod etc.

It's so hard to improve my gear when everyone is mostly trading on either DT or rubies. I've been farming magma but my drop luck is very bad.

I'm even starting to lose interest as there is nothing else to do other then nega. I really hope something can be done as am one of those whose losing interest in the game because of the lack of things to do at end game.

Hsoma definitely doesn't need a drop rate increase, not only is there allot more items in circulation, there are more players, more crafters, more uses and higher drop rate, and mobs with better drop files that are more relavent to the lvl.

Maybe a new style sgem rather than tabs drop,
Eg: 1 med ruby/1red pod/1 az pill etc

+1 we need better drops rate on d soma.

I've seen drop rates on h soma trolls, as humans didn't like them, but they are still better than devil deity or warmes wizzards

Part of the problem is there's so many not-worth upgrades on DSoma.

Eggs/Az are close to worthless. We have no new weapons to upgrade to actually use the massive amounts we have lying around.
RDTs used to be good when they gave defense, but now pretty crap as they only give attack
Red PoDs seem to be popular, but mathematicallly speaking they're worse than RDT for raw DPS
ToW, Drugs and Yellow Pills seem to be worth nothing
CTs low value
Blue pods worthless
OE is nice for RvR, but that's not really anyone's priority
Proc vials seem to have some value for the only 2 active mages ingame lol

The only upgrade people want is DT because it's the ONLY upgrade that boosts your offense and defense.

And of course Keen Eyes but there's an obvious lack of rubies. Am I the only one with loads of mares blood but not enough rubies?

So you have an economy full of "useless" upgrades nobody wants, whereas you have so many more viable options on HSoma. This makes trade difficult or non-existent.

I like the suggestion to add an NPC to exchange upgrades, kind of like how Kisha works for mats.

If drop rate was increased I'd be more tempted to come back, that plus the NPC exchange for pills/ups would probably get me farming again.

It's just too much time invested for little/no gain (once your gear is at a certain point)...Not slating GMs there it's just how soma is, it's a grind. Esoma never got this far so it's hard to say what can bring people back to dsoma, but an increased drop rate so that you might get something of use from a few hours of farming would be good.

As it stands, to gain +1 dex on an item (for me), to get to a better position than I already am (without YOLO'ing my existing parts) it takes aproximately 6-7 weeks of farming for a few hours a day.

Another suggestion I have seen is repeatable "kill x amount of said mob for one of the following pills" aka select which you want...and make the number of mobs you need to kill realistic...

We also need more Medium/Large rubies dropping, drop rate is dire vs hsoma.

Yeah agreed, removing items of no use would be good to. If the items can potentially be used by a lower level then fine leave it in, but certain items just need removing from drop files in general.

+1 or maybe make barr worth something again in Dsoma. for example 5mill barr for DT, its just boring farming for 1 week (1 hunt per night) and you end up getting x1 rdt from magma.

The game needs to be fun and not grind for 1 month to get 2-4 DT or KE. I wish we implement barr exchange NPC for mats, it will bring back a lot of player to the game. Please do not implement x amount of token for DT, KE etc.

Please consider making it easier for us older players*

+1 to increased drop rate/repeatable (fairly large but not crazy numbers) quests for decent upgrades.

A good part of the reason I quit Dsoma was the drops. If you get to level 100 Dsoma you may have a few upgrades and some weapons of some use if you’re lucky, look at things on Hsoma and I had a WH full to the brim of upgrades. The difference in enthusiasm is gigantic, even if it all rips at the anvil at least you know it won’t take months to get another attempt on a half decent item.

Appreciate the feedback.

However, comparing it to hsoma for droprates or upgrades is not the thing to do..

Dsoma was fundamentally never supposed to have an upgrade system - we added one to change the monotony of getting an L tag weapon and then nothing to build upon.

As for con+ or str+ upgrades they are a choice it’s up to you if you want to or not.

The rate of drops will eventually increase as we see a closer RVR balance. I know ghostlord also wanted to add the equivalent of herbs/ll etc to some mobs to build more economy.

I’ll see if I can dig out his work on it later
