Add stat allocation to hsoma

Author Content Date
As we are all aware for the best stats on hsoma there is a rigorous +50 route and heal to 100 int.

This puts shame on all 1st gen characters, where as most games the longer you have played the game the more rewards you are given for loyalty for playing where as due to the game design this is the opposite.

At the moment every man and his dog are having to create new supernoobs to compete with those who did the +50 route and heal to 100 int.

I suggest to save everyone the time and hassle of creating brand new characters spending thousands of hours poured into soma that it would be good to have stat allocation just like dsoma have, everybody has the same amount of points therefore gear will be most important if everyone chooses similar stats.

Yes people have put a ridiculous amount of hours already into these characters, I'm not saying anyone should lose stats but that everyone should have equal stats. Yes this is more than likely going to annoy people for the countless hours they have already put into their super noobs but should this change occur this will benefit new and existing players and encourage new players into our small community.

This will :

1) Decrease the "grind" of the average player enjoying the game more being able to level on whatever mobs you enjoy, this will mean more lower end mobs are hunted like raptors, trolls, wraiths etc rather than blg or int healing

2) Give every new and existing player the same equal opportunity for stats.

3)Encourage new players to join the game as it will not be as tedious.

Already been too much change to hsoma stats already with the way con worked and hp gains per lvl, mixing lvls, griefing stats + % for massive hp/mp gains etc which has dumbed down some of the things that makes soma unique in the first place, if it keeps getting simplified stat changes it will be any other game but 20 years old.

The only thing i will suggest is to speed up lvling dramatically until 80 dex range and especially healing for int.

That said i never did like how we cap and gain no more stats on this server as esoma did not have stat caps and you could do quests at lvl 100 to gain stats and int simply was not capped at lvl 100 you could keep training it.

If players could keep training that would reintroduce what we had on esoma where those playing longest would be ahead of most which they should be. Perhaps even add an overtrain feature so when you are capped you can still gain stats but its like 4 times slower so 1% takes 4% worth of time which will make it esoma rates essentially for those who want to train further rather than farm items.

it would allow two path branches of playing at endgame, do you train more stats for a raw advantage? Or do you go for power farming of items to get stronger gear or a mix of the two.

-1 Such a terrible idea

Those who want to put the hours in should be rewarded over those who do not

The stat allocation ruined dsoma, ask any dsoma player pre patch they will agree, hence why most have left

All these people -1 are the ones that have spent the countless hours making the best stat characters and i understand why they would be angry by this change, but its a bit selfish imo thinking about yourselves rather than the whole server and the possibilities of new players with a higher UC.

What about those that have spent over 4 thousand hours in game with a gen1 char, how are they rewarded? With obsolete statistics?

You don't really have any idea by the sounds of it :p

If GM did what you're asking for, UC would definitely be less lol

I don't play dsoma because I have never liked waiting for a whole level to gain stats. If you don't want to waste a 4000 hour character then keep playing it. Some people enjoy trying to make a perfect char and those people who have will suffer because someone else is too lazy to do so? Not a fan of this idea at all.

So let me get this straight... This is a dumb post for suggesting all players should be on an equal playing field?

I don't play dsoma so i don't know why the changes killed off dsoma, if all people where to be given the same amount of allocation points how exactly will this kill the game? People will chose to put their points into what they wish for their certain build or everyone could go full dex and gear will be the main thing to focus on. This will drive any new players who want to have fun, to be able to have fun rather than the ridiculous system that is currently in place.

"lazy to do so" this would benefit all future players not just one person.

Firstly why don’t you post off your main if you think this is such a great idea.

Secondly this is a horrendous idea because it would probably kill off 50% at least of the UC like we said in Dsoma before it happened and now they can’t even get a trade together over there.

Thirdly this is how Soma is, the people who left Dsoma and came to Hsoma did it because they wanted to actually level properly and build their character as they go, not smash % out as fast as possible, nerf stats most of the way, be totally bored and eventually be a carbon copy of everyone else.

Anything else I can answer?
