"RAVENSOUL"Soma is perfectly fine to play as a solo player. You can level your character up without any upgraded items and enjoy this game, but if you want to take part in the top end bosses, gvw, wotw, etc then you will need better items and that requires a lot of time and a shed load of luck at the anvil.

Yet again we come to the time invested versus the rewards, and sadly months of collecting for a few minutes to have it destroyed at the anvil just isn't what I would call balanced one bit. I know we will have the same people saying the anvil is fine, some will say the upgrade system is fine, but for the casual player that is no comfort or reason to keep investing time into the game.

We all know the UC is on the low side, on both sides human and devil, but something has to change otherwise it's going to be harder and harder for the players still playing.

There has been many great suggestions made in the suggestion section to make this game even better but at the end of the day it boils down to the gear you have to take part in most of the events that take place in soma. There lies the problem to try make the gear required to take part requires the drops, then the anvil beckons and sadly if these 2 parts aren't addressed this great game will suffer and that isn't what we want.

Amen to this Raven, Everything you said is what I support, I've always said this game needs to evolve from esoma and make it more noob friendly and less harsh in the case of upgrading.

Threads like these keep being made, and I completely agree to that this game for the casual player is not rewarding when months of farming go down the drain at the hand of the outdated upgrade system.

The SomaDev team should look at other games and learn from them in order to make soma more user friendly and less punishing.

Breaking items should be a thing of the past, GMS would get no forum pms if the wep dura stopped at 1, making it unusable till repaired or special repaired.

Breaking items in the anvil should be a thing of the past, Allowing the item to fail upgrade but not break would be the best way to upgrade the anvil to make it better for the casuals and the hardcore players.
(More items would be floating around the market making it more lively)

I will talk about this stuff later on today on the Podcast.

Agreed bro. It's not just hsoma dsoma too and it's harder too as items are less available due to dsoma economy ie players less there for less drops therefore expensive economy.

Tbh on both worlds ive had shit days where all my nice stuff breaks at +1 but then good days where I've gone to +5. Also combines are a real gamble does anyone know how this works. Ive had 11 fails in a row yet sometimes I've had 4 combines in a row is this just a gamble like a set rate?

I'm on the side where I'd rather see drops uped again to give ppl more items to upgrade and more rewards wilst hunting than making anvil easyer

At least first before altering the anvil

As the last drop increase didn't make much of a difference to the upgrade drops

Then again devils had ctf last week and didn't see any drops all week

I agree with this, tlrather than making anvil easier.

I think if anvil doesn't break items the trades will become non existent. People will just hoarded all tagged weps arm and acc to combine to intense. Knowing it's not gonna break in the anvil. Might turn out shit but wont break.

If we would go down the route of that then I'd suggest removing combine.

But I think I'd rather keep combine and let anvil still break stuff instead of no breaking and no combine.

I'd agree to upping drops a bit more. ( especially on dsoma)

Also a rework on drops from mobs. Stuff doesn't need removing as each item has it's own % drop. For example shanis drop shak tier weps, can leave all other drops on shanis as shak weps would have it's own % to drop.

The drops are noticeable on hsoma when we have CTF as there is a lot of people out hunting where as dsoma hasn't been active for a long while now.

I am not trying to be negative. I love the game, but...If you had farmed months and months for just 1 intense nega sword and you see it breaking going for +5 it can sets you in a quitting mode straight away. I don't log on as much as I used to because of family and work but I guess anvil could have been changed slightly in a way that you don't lose your weap if failed but decreases the + on it ofc on a lower success rate than now. At least people would sell gear they don't need and would farm for better ones. At the same time people would keep going as they know they wouldn't lose months and months of farming. Dsoma economy is dead, to get a drop from lvling mobs it is like winning the lottery (not talking about mags) but still not enough has been done to change it or to make life enjoyable for these 10 people left that still play the devil side. Still, I repeat myself. I love the game and don't won't to be negative about everything GMs have done for us till now.

Breaking items in the anvil should be a thing of the past, Allowing the item to fail upgrade but not break would be the best way to upgrade the anvil to make it better for the casuals and the hardcore players.

This but the item still goes +1. And also..say if use an SS on item and fails, you can still only use 2 more SS on it. But I do see a problem in trading because how would people know someone else failed using SS
