Currently we have guilds gifting the stone and really just zapping the fun from these events i know it to be the case on both sides in hsoma and dsoma.
Im sure there are many from both sides and even some neutrals who would like to see these events being fiercely fought.
Was wondering if anyone could offer up some solutions to this.
Lets try not to flame this thread.

I came up with some novel ideas.

Anyone within a 4x4 of the stone thats not the defending guilds attack is redirected to the stone holder.

would stop all allied guilds being able to stand so close to stone or there attacks will hit stone holder. would open up a new dynamic where they cant just block off the stone and let xxx person/guild take it.

GVW needs to have more rewards to give to all memebers of the winning guild. More incentive to win means more attendance and the % will balance itself out. For starters you could gift everyone a scroll of valor for every 10 minutes they're inside the guild hut. The Barr going to the winning guilds guild stash via GV shop sales is hardly motivation to win it, atm GVW is more an E-Peen thing than anything else. Trace is just the icing on the cake to get to mob spawns faster. Give GVW winners 10%~?% faster exp/drops, who would want to give that up for free? Though if you don't attend you deserve to lose. GVW % decay should be removed and instead have more of a focus on rewards for poeple attending and winning than anything else.

The issue with that being especially dsoma side it's the same guild protected by many support guilds/alts with extras logged on chars to force the win, more so if % was removed as they wouldn't need to gift it to allied alts to dodge a low %

I quite like fringe idea but would have it to the range of archer to stop them just standing back with the same tactics, would actually force it into a FFA kind of war

And no this isnt me wanting to win it, I'm a mage, I never go for the stone I just attend for the fun of the war, best war we had in ages was when asure were able to turn up in force due to their holidays and it genuinely seemed to be a free for all, if not quite the sides were much more even.

It could be fun idea to reward most kills or something but as with everything it's open to abuse of alts and double logging.

Honestly i'd like a range penalty for widescreen res and so on. For everything range over 5, range 5 - 30% dmg, range 6 - 40% dmg andf so on. I find the idea of melee interrupting magic absoluteley stupid, but at the same time proc effects are also completyely stupid. It's so engrained into Soma's game play at this poitn in time that i i don't know if it could be changed.

Same mong below. Was telling the streamer in another video is there any point streaming cos its dead as fk.
Pushing out the most active dsoma guild for whatever reason is just hurting the event.

Remove guild stone from event completely
2. Add 4x “Village Defender” NPCs (could be more….) 2x Melee and 2x mage spec’d – one pair (1 of each type) located inside hall and the other in the yard.
a. Their movements would need constraining to stop them being lured away from the village confines.
b. Village Defenders defence and attack abilities would need careful GM consideration to get a fair balance – and to make the GVW last a reasonable time. E.g. not too dexy so that anyone can hit them reasonably not just ubber kitted capped players.
c. Maybe these Boss’ abilities could be made scalable dependant upon the numbers taking part………..
3. To win the village, attackers have to kill all 4 bosses before one hour expires.
4. Defenders have to protect and keep the Defenders alive for 1 hour.
a. Healing of Defenders by players should be possible.
5. This would stop the war ending at exactly 8 as it could end much earlier if lots turn up at the beginning and thus, force people to attend for more than the last 10 minutes.
6. Make the Defenders drop Scrolls of Valour

a small change could make the difference, like remove the timer on death in gvw when ur dead u instant respwn so many gvws have been won with somebody dead on stone for ages.

also make the pot delay for the stone holder like SS.

These changes would make it more fun whether your outnumbered or not if the person on the stone is easy to move off and for it to keep changing hands would be far better than one person able to tank for the whole hour.

Constructive feedback - guild that owns the GVW should get 2x or 4x rested regen rate inside the guild hut.
