Unless you have nice gear or a tank then yes, they are challenging. Do Hoarde Shanis instead, the difference in stats gained will be small, or like Tanto said, stick around at Devil Fish /cyclones a little while longer its better than get frustrated and not playing.

U can go blg and stay at blg if you have the right amount of Eva and Dex access for the drops... Switching to horde Shanis imo only matters of your not geared enough for 99% on blg...

I've accumulated items and gear over the last 6+ years where I can basically jump from +50(84str if done with bow) route (devil warrior/Palus) straight to blg... So it's different for everyone in some way...

Think u need full 7% Eva and dodge and about 30dex minimum in accessories to get 99% on blg at like 86base dex

Dont use int on hellish trolls unless specifically freemode skilling with a low lvl mtag

As a returning player for maybe over a year

Whats the best way now to make the best Hsoma stat character that you can?

And the same with Dsoma? (Or is it not effected as much with the str+ 10 difference )?

Thanks!!!

Dsoma is not subject to the same rules as Hsoma with regards to stat gains. You gain a flat amount of stats per level (dependant on your class) regardless of what monster you choose to level on - that is until you hit the STR or INT cap on that particular monster, in which case they will give you zero exp.

The best way to level a human for optimum stats is to follow the monster list posted earlier in the thread. You dont necessarily have to follow the exact path laid out - like you dont have to kill dire wolves to X STR then leocrots to Y STR - theres nothing stopping you jumping up the list at going to Raptors at 10 STR or whatever; just dont pass the ideal values laid out in the tables if you're going for maximum stats.

You gain the stats in the same % it’s just you will kill the shanis in less hits result quicker levelling.

Edit - purely on a personal opinion I stuck with blg’s due to drops, rubies, ep’s, herbs, eggs and dt’s.

Having taken a char through this over the last month or two and keeping a close eye on %/gains, I found blg gave better gains at the 90-104 stage (str gains with bow.) It was marginal but I noticed it being lower % every time I checked. Curious if anyone else has checked this recently or if I somehow miscounted multiple times.

Regardless, as Raven said, you're better staying at blg if you can, if only for the drops.

Can this get flagged as it's a massive help to newer chars seeking str / Dex advise along with best mob to hunt without needing to waste xp along the way.
