"SHAILO"Having attending a fair few HSoma Nega its clear melee get at least 90% of the kills now, even the best geared mages struggle to get the last hit on it. Even looking at the current boss feed, Nega is listed 6 times and every time it has been killed by a melee char. Of course majority of the time these are well geared melee chars but surely an equivalently geared mage should have just as much chance of killing? The feed and past experience suggests this isn't the case.

As it stands attending on a mage is pretty pointless and looks like our only option to get a kill is by lvling/gearing a melee char.

Can this be looked into?

What are other people's thoughts?

Do agree with this now but before change if ound it was mages only. i dont understand why their isnt a boss for mages and melee and farming mobs for warirors added liek mags. server more liekly to be shut down than majority of warriors killing 10k mags, i do kill mags hwne we have guild hunts but thats it.

I have seen negas with only melee chars there. Mages have a smaller chance of killing it because of the MD, but also the probability is lower because of how few mages attend it most of the time 0-2 mostly. A MA potion could fix the imbalance.

I don't think that is a prevailing factor (might be wrong).

I "think" that the way DPS works is that you have to be able to do damage greater than the defence before any damage is registered.

So, for instance, if the defence is 250 and your attack is <250 you won't do any damage at all (no matter how many times you hit per second).

So, unless you have quite marvellous STR and/or quite marvellous STR/Attack accessories, you aren't going to fare much better than a gnat with melee.

.... At least, that is how it has been explained to me.

Nope, you cannot do zero damage to a mob. We changed min damage in pvp and pve. Watch a level 125 get hit by a level 1

Cool, nice to hear that from the horse's mouth.

How much is "minimum" damage?

Surely min would be 1 dmg?

If you had less attack then the def then it would just count as 1 dmg?
