Mana Drain Proc

Just an idea that I had whilst out PKing earlier - a mage is only useful when it can cast and it can’t cast if low on mana. Would diversify PvP as people would have to start also carrying MP pots with them. It would help a little to redress the balance on both hsoma and dsoma between mages and mele (though maybe not good for dsoma given mages already have it rough).

how would it actually work tho.

i doubt people are gnna take off there accuracy / att as a melee to have any mana drain.

as a mage ur not really gonna try and drain another mages mana.

all i will say from a dsoma pov

capped sword in pod gear can hit+5th a mage (insta dead if in range 1)
spear could do the same i think if pod rolled well
and goldkim yesterday took about 80% of my heatlh in a 1hit+4th (archer)

forcing more mana pots (dsoma mage spell already costs 19mp for 1v1 35mp for aoe) just means more pot runs as we rinse hp pots taking fire

Really appreciate this perspective from dsoma - it might be a case that should this prove a popular idea it could be for hsoma only?

Theres dispell aswell, which is vastly more used on dsoma as theres no other use for diamonds compaired to hsoma

What about creating some sort of "ability" instead of an ugprade item? Like we have indicators for immunity / freemode, what about a ability or power you can use every so often? once a day for an hour etc?
Or even another buff potion for these type of things?

Even if a vampire / life on hit was created and worked PVE i'd personally still take speed on my weapons

Would also open up opportunities for more, i'm sure this has been mentioned before though so ignore me if it has xD

If there was a few to pick from you could use that as a barr sink, 10m per change or something

This would be a decent idea if dispel gear wasn’t so common, but it would be overkill against mage’s with that considered IMO.

Mage’s already have to carry a lot of feather’s and serum’s due to min dex (tank mage at least), to have to carry a load of mana too would also be an issue.
