Healing to 100int

Author Content Date
I started hsoma and got my 30 con

I then started healing and got to 29.0int and was already struggling.

The same amount of hours as that gets me an 80+ dsoma character

If a change was to come in I’d probably work on my human on the side

The key point is you don’t NEED to heal, I’d say 60% of the chars who pvp have not, I even still see 1st gen chars that are decent because of GEAR (prime example gannon no offence :-p) not the fact they have healed... why are people under the illusion that you must have it to compete with other people?

Hsoma is about gear always has been always will be.

That info on wiki should be deleted about healing

First char on any game should be about having fun and exploring the lands/learning the ropes etc

I don’t have any capped chars on hsoma because I find grinding for items Boring as fuck and it can all be for nothing once u hit the anvil, bet that makes 10x amount of people give up rather then the heal for int,

Once the new meta becomes reachable not just for the hardcore (Or the mad) you will be saying Its unfair then no doubt and something needs doing about it..

just to recap as it’s a long post... soma is GEAR

That being said games only gonna survive if we can encourage new decent players.. :-p

I agree with all of this. Currently there is a new player in the soma discord who is only healing. He mentions how boring it is and how someone told him "you might as well start again if you don't heal".

What if a new player were to join this game like this lad but did not use discord? They would probably turn it off one day and then realise that they can't be arsed healing to 100 and never turn it on again.

Again, you don't have to heal to 100 and Hsoma is all gear so why not make it easier for new players?

EDIT: Also to mention that both skittle and snottyman have not played since being griefed while healing which is -2 to the usercount and -2 new players.

Being allowed to freemode to 100 int wouldn't be an easy option as suggested above.. it cudnt be done afk and would take some serious time...
So... it wouldn't be gifted or an ez life... and if healing was capped at 25-30 int wotever.. the other 70 int would have to be earned in free mode.. really don't understand opposition to this.. as said above, most 'heal to 100' guys have done some serious afk'ing to reach that.
Would also eliminate the having to dual client which isn't the easiest thing to figure out for new players.

Also +1 Ace.... absolutely no NEED to have the 100 ' free int' as the game is totally gear biased.. some1 with shit stats can blow any1 outta the water with good gear... so it aint a necessity..
Though... the 100 healed int is more than 30-40% xp difference as some claim. It does make a noticeable difference.. but nothing compared to having great gear...
x
Also... faster, easier levelling and players capping relatively easy , has led to not only pk from boredom, and running out of game content, the fact that the endgame is totally dependent and biased on good gear..... Mr Paypal has reared his nasty capitalist head....
hence more levels, more stats needed !! ( damn did i say that again? oh well ;p )

a simple daily quest for 5 int from killing mobs you need to level on anyway would be the best solution - maximum int to do quests - 100. Completion of the quest to add xx xp to your chr ...........

Finito to enable that you can only hit people who are grey, whilst you are in PK mode.
Guards to attack people who are grey, just like they would any devil moral player. Makes more sense now that you can't TP whilst grey.

Again, there is no need for a fuss to be created every single time someone is "griefed" afk.

They wouldn't be killed at all, not a single time, if they are at their keyboards - if you can't meet this requirement and choose to do it AFK, expect to be griefed.

I'll give you an example, I and a few others, went to merc and saw Mystie healing, we had presumed he was AFK, so we tried to stop this. But to our surprise, he wasn't AFK, and voila! the killings were avoided.

It's getting pretty boring now seeing players leave because they can't be arsed to be at their keyboards to prevent being griefed. It's also equally boring seeing the same argument and ideas being brought up to "justify" afk healing.

If you really expect people to gain 90 int completely AFK, with no repercussions what-so-ever, the game becomes a bot fest, even more so than it is now. What happens to the UC then? The community needs to be self-policed, if it is through griefing AFK people, so be it.

If you're going to go on about it's because they're breaking the rules, you should look closer to home about your guild killing themselves for immunity and boosting their KD. I don't see you going massively out of your way to deter that behaviour? Even though it's been made clear by Isylver a while ago that it would be and has been punished in the past. This goes for both sides of the alliance, not just yours.

Healing to 100 INT takes well over 2 months, even if you are AFK. It saves 40% at level 125. In that time you could have hunted items to make up the stat difference of the 40%. They hold no massive advantage because they healed to 100. They don't get items. They don't get anything, apart from saving 40% at cap, which equates to around 1 str.

You're trying to justify shitty behaviour because someone is AFK healing? Solitude said it perfectly on Discord.
"Leaving your wallet on the tablet at the pub is your decision, that doesn't justify the person who steals it... the thief is still a thief... there are 2 types of people ... those that see the wallet and go "that was silly but im not an ass so i won't steal it" and then theres "im going to steal that because i have absolutely zero regard for others"

This kind of behaviour has caused 3 people to quit. Snottyman, constiw0man and skittle. They didnt quit because they can't handle it. They quit because of the toxic shit attitude of players in the game. This game was about a solid community. Now it's the total opposite. Keep going on with the same behaviour and watch the usercount go down even further.

You're going on as if they're at BLG botting for days on end getting drops. Healing to 100 INT does not affect your game play what so ever. Not in any way does someone healing afk change your gaming experience 1 little bit. They're in town ffs

People do not gain anything from giving someone 2 deaths for immunity, they lose moral instead. The matter at hand is discussing gaining literal stats, whilst being AFK...

Healing to 100 int isn't meant for everyone - as you said it yourself, if it "only" saves you 40% at level 125, why would you go out of your way to go AFK for it, and then quit after you get griefed for taking that risk? I myself haven't healed to 100 int,and never will, because it's stupid and it should be removed altogether IMO.

If what you call shitty behavior is killing someone gaining stats AFK, wow, that is shitty indeed, but what's more shitty is someone gaining stats AFK.

I didn't mention BLG, nor did I intend it to sound like people are botting BLG, but you make a good point. How is healing AFK for 2 months any different from botting on any other mob for stats for 2 months? Only drops perhaps, but you're still gaining stats AFK just like a bot would.

So what if they're in town? You shouldn't be able to gain 90 int in town, AFK, there are many mobs out there outside of town to hunt for int which are pretty much obsolete these days (even despite the +50 stat bonus being extended to 84int) : elder gazer, evil bric, druids, lichs, wraith, lich lords, even prismatic shadows.

Justifying gaining stats AFK is just stupid - would you justify a bot doing the same thing? Because that's essentially what it is...

Leave the INT advantage in as its another time sink for people that really care about it, giving a aspect/dimension to creating a new project char. I just put faith in the fact the advantage really is that 1.0/2.0 of a stat and not nearer 10.0 at level 125.

As for a fix, healing grey players, making the healer grey was purposely in place to stop "neutrals" involving themselves without consequences in pk. Does that have relevance here? I think it does a bit, though not as much as it once did, back when pk was meaningful and had a point.

So guard pking a grey char may be better all round...tough call because the act of healing AFK itself is "generally wrong" but its so rampant it becomes "accepted" instead..

As for healing AFK as we're going to have in game moderators, I'd encourage them to know how to record videos and report people afk healing in town. Force people to do it out of town if they have by whatever means and they'll then be open to karma and open world pvp and only those really wanting to do it / are up for the challenge, will.

justifying bumping your PK ratio wow....

you literally just said about what people do and do not gain. you guys are literally gaming the PK ratio in this and in the allied kills.

also, since your aim is to stop those gaining stats? what are you going to do about the even weirder ones who live in the anvil house who cast 1st aura all day? hmm ? nothing is what.

as was previously stated. healing a gray was implemented to prevent abuse during PK. Using it to make other players gray is bug abuse imo. It's the same as when you grief mage players and you run around their mobs trying to get them to accidentally hit you with a spell AFTER they have accepted the 2 deaths and have PVP immunity.

GM's disable afk healers when they are on by either recalling the players healing target or disconnecting them. They are aware of it and do not pursue further punishment. You guys take it to another level which imo is harassment.

Bottom line is your lot are scum, plain as day end of story.

My my, the people defending AFK healing are just a different breed.

I've communicated in every way possible why a person who is healing AFK should be susceptible to being griefed, if you want to deflect my arguments by saying "look at your guild", "what about these sort of people ", and my favorite, "town is meant to be safe", you can continue to do just that.

"TYPHIN"justifying bumping your PK ratio wow....

This was a literal bug with immunity, and has been fixed, so what's your point?

Bottom line is, gaining stats AFK, when it can be prevented, should be prevented. What can I do about people gaining stats via aura? Nothing, so that's what I'll do.
