New tier armors

Next armor tier to stop everyone looking the same...

Have 3 new melee sets all with same defensive stats but different skins

Mage set looks like a mage in robes
Melee set looks like a warrior in plate
Dex set looks like some type of Leather


Requirements need to really be high enough so u have to build ur char towards 1 type of set



Would diversify the look of the game a lot more rather then everybody looking the same all the time!


with regards to if the armor has any buff’s that needs looking into as if say helm has no accuracy no warriors gonna use it and lose out on the buff Titus helm offers and same with the boots for dex mages

Threads purely melee armor if this worked well then MD stuff could be looked at aswell in the future..

Just a thought to add.
When I used to play guild wars 1,
They had a system in PvP where the stats were controlled by runes.

Basically you could have any piece of armour in the game, the armour could have the worst stats say 1-1 for example.
This armour could be applied with a rune and it would overwrite the stats on the armour with the stats that were displayed on the rune...

In this case you could have three sets of runes, magic/agility/strength
each piece of armour will need separate runes to govern what stats that will be on the armour

Would be cool to have a massive variation in armours on what people prefer.
This would help with the new nameless gvw system for sure.


Edit: actually they were called insignias on Guild wars.

Agree new armours would be cool, we blast through to bone / sorc sets too quickly and these skins seem wasted.

I don't agree on them being a quest though, picking only 1 type, too much like hero tbh.

I also don't agree that mage armour has same defence as melle armour. You pick mage, there known to be physically squishy or not very dexy depending on how you build it out. Use your magic to counteract that defect, either that or melle armour has same md that mage armour has.

Dark/smokey plate is my vote for a new armour set

I think the point he’s trying to make is that mages just wear melee armor...if we made the new stuff so mages can’t wear they would just use Titus and not their new armor as it would have no def, somas gone to far down the road now to make a big change as such!

As it stands atm if ur a mage u either have high str and no dex...but can’t ever cast
High dex mage takes big melee damage as they have no str

As my above thread states we need some visual diversity

dsoma mages are glass cannon
and bigshow basically nailed it in his reply but yes, unless the robes had sufficient defense to replace the armours no mage is going to volunteer to drop the much needed defense regardless of appearance, otherwise they would already do so

the melee damage output on dsoma is far too high, thats why warriors dont even wear robes for the added md, theyd rather risk the magic damage over melee
