It’s great to see many suggestions towards the point of my original post. I have to say sapper’s would help greatly for the new casual solo players that find this server and think “I’ll give Soma a try”

I did have a blast levelling my test character, hunting old unused mobs etc, hit and run tactics to slay the mobs but the time came when shanis/blg and bang that fecking brick wall appears it’s hard just levelling I couldn’t get my head round the fact that every so often I had to waste my hour or 2 farming, questing just to be able to level, I used armours that dropped to save having to buy from shop, it was frustrating at times, yeah I could have took the easy way out gave it a few million etc geared him but that wouldn’t have be right.

Like I said, new players just want to level there character, they don’t want to have to side track farming, questing just to be able to level. Some of the lower level quests could do with tweaking none of those 2, 3, 4K mob kills for a frog or 2. They need to be around the 150-200-300 kill area.

Each time the level cap rises brings a gulf for newer players to have a chance to catch up regardless of if you play 1-2 hours or 10 hours everyone deserves the chance, so making it more enjoyable and rewarding will keep players logging of for that 1-2 hours or 10 hours.

Reward versus time for everyone regardless.

during x2 halloween .. took 8.5 days ..a long week maybe from 0-100 int
95-100 was 100 mins per .1 = 83 hours .. so atm with normal rates .. 95-100 would equate to 166 hours..ish
crazy long time indeed .. but not months

"SAL3M"The question with respect to getting new players to join and stay is whether or not the gameplay is fun.

I contend that people that aren't already Soma fans that are here for nostalgia will not find it fun to afk for months to achieve max stats nor will they consider it fun to level a subpar character so as to dual client and tank for an improved character. I don't know of any other game that has this dynamic and there is probably a good reason for that.

You can consider it 'diluting efforts' if you like but I'd sooner see the game more accessible/fun for a broader audience and I feel changing these mechanics could help to achieve that. Perhaps Afro is right that it is better to just try and please the people that do play as there likely are very few new players at best anyway but my suggestions are all granting the premise of this particular thread.

As for barr; it may be easy to come by later on but personally the only way I've been able to finance pots in h soma is by xferring barr from d soma.

Qft, using dual clients/afk etc are ridiculous game mechanics that are at best painful work arounds and might be viewed as cheating in other frames of reference.

I can't imagine anybody as ever derived enjoyment out of doing either, games are supposed to be fun lest we forget!

In terms of daily investment, 1~2 hours is normal for modern dip in dip out lifestyle.

I would suggest removing the various daily quests that try to capture str range mobs and int level mobs and just have one that is kill whatever is in your stat range.

Make it the same as the events where the drops only come from mobs in your stat range. it would be less admin to manage, you wouldn't have to add more everytime you added a new mob.

it would also sort some of the disparity in dsoma where it is not tuned to each class as much as it is in hsoma.

keep the magma ones and nega ones for obvious reason, but cut the rest
