They do not appear to drop while hunting in freemode, can someone shine some light on the criteria for them to drop please?

you get them from mobs in your stat range. by going free mode i would take it this has been covered to prevent abuse say with a character with high str and no int going wraiths just to one shot with +8 bow in freemode

I can confirm presents drop in freemode.

Freemode won't have anything to do with present droping, you need to be hunting mobs that you would gain exp from(which is mobs within 30 str/int of yourself)

Freemode a different system that won't affect present droping, just stops you gaining exp
