HOW TO: End game

Author Content Date
Had a little break, come back to see a suffering usercount - ok let's work on some suggestions to make end game an actual thing in Soma.

[Quests]
*Repeatable*
Insight of my mind
Kill 3000 Elder Magma Beasts for 1x Tablet of Insight

*Repeatable*
Dude where's my Carmine?
Kill 3000 Elder Magma Beasts for 1x Carmine Tablet

*Repeatable*
Double trouble
Kill 5000 Elder Magma Beasts for 1x Double Delight Tablet
[can only pick up 1 of these quests at a time until completed or abandoned]

*Repeatable*
Kill 6000 of new mob (mage and melee) for 1x Tablet of Insight / Carmine
Kill 8000 of new mob (mage or melee) for 1x Double Delight Tablet

[New Mobs]
Both worlds to get a decent spawn of 1x melee and 1x mage mob that give no stats like Magma beasts but to be hunted end game when capped as an alternative option to Magma beast variants.

Add Human mobs to multiple maps including Conti with increased drop rates (this keeps capped chars out of Spiders and Vafers so people can level without being overcrowded.

Abias / Merc would be nice for humans
Hwan / Pandi would be nice for devils? (not played dsoma in ages sorry)

- Mobs to drop Nega weapons at same rate of Elder Mags
- DDT / Carmine / Insight shards (3 shards can be converted at pot table like a ruby small > med upgrade with 100% success)
- Mobs to drop their souls and used as a currency in a new TYT vendor for upgrades at GM's value and discretion (can add nega weapons / diamonds / Bravery access for STR / DEX / INT rings etc here)
- Marry up drop files with what makes sense from Elders / Vafers / Spiders and anything new you want to add to the game in regards to weapons / armours / upgrade items

@GM's what i would like to see is a reason to sink hours into grinding mobs after i cap, and progression depending on the amount of hours i sink into it (in the way of gear / upgrades and not stats)

New mobs that are easy enough to grind I.E Hellish trolls and Wasps for melee and mages, and we can simply whack away, get our repeatable quests after hours of grind, why cant we repeat this over thousands of hours and build a war chest from repeatable quests off the back of it?

Elders do this somewhat for mages, but the spawn is annoying with very few Elders available at busy times
The small minions are an annoyance that means we are constantly luring them out of the way etc, i get it, but let us chill and grind rather than having 1 pop bangs whelps etc.

If the new mobs and repeatable were added then i would just chill to podcasts / Netflix and grind away having fun, as it stands i have been here and done that with Elders for too many hours to be bothered really.

double tabs are the way to make better gear for us all at this point, shards would be a perfect way to get there, slowly but surely (at your drop rate discretion)

Cheers :)

While nice quests, anvil changes are your only way.

Everything I got from 125-130 inc quests multiple nega kills ect ect. None of it made it to +5. None made it remotely close to being better than what I currently use.

I would say a large majority, especially OE upgrades and weps failed +3.

Genuinely think the only way of hooking people back would be adding ghost upgrade and removal of +2 for free.

Magma quests just don’t cut it any more. They don’t drop enough of what really need. Mags have been the end mob far to long. Farming has become a chore with recent changes to sd and add the fact there is no uc it’s becoming impossible to trade.

Even with faster higher drop rates monsters just don’t drop enough.

Agree with you 100%
This post was how to end game, as in the play style i would like to see come in.

I think you are right with the anvil, by making drops more accessible via repeatable quests, or mobs with a more lucrative drop file that are not sat in a field of whelps will potential mean that the +2-+5 issue are having is really too bad, as more attempts within the time frame may yield better results, and when the anvil is having a good day you would end up with a big smile on your face.

Agree with this too, hence why i want to see a hellish troll / Wasp type of mob that can be hunted without gaining stats, a pure treasure mob.

we are all here on Soma for the grind element, the addiction to kill and see what dropped, then on to the next one, trying to use up all your SR's within a Soma day etc, i want that feeling back, for ME i believe the orig post fixes end game.

A dungeon clone just rammed with loads of mobs that give no xp and all have good loot tables would be awesome.

Basically like a treasure dungeon in Diablo 3.

Heck you could just copy the dungeon with it’s current mobs, maybe change the colour of a few and give them all magma beast stats and loot tables, maybe increasing spawn rate of everything by double.

It would be chaos.

But then people could hunt all 3 normal levels, go to devil warriors, or hit skeletons, or decide to go after elementals etc.

It would sort the issue of congested spawns too.

You could even argue the dungeon isn’t used at the moment outside a few monsters on both races, place them elsewhere and use the current dungeons.

New quests could then be tied to each of the 30 or so monsters located there (add same ones to devil dungeon)

Made a very similar suggestion like this before, so yes .. i love it ... however i am trying to give Dan the bare minimum of time required to create the update.

The game should embrace that the majority of players lay for pvp. And that element of the game is somewhat lacking.

The game needs more time stamp guaranteed open world objectives to fight for. That can guarantee content and things for those that thrive for it(which must be most of the user count)

This in turn will help those that want to level. As currently instead of being harassed 24/7 by bored players. The players would no longer be bored.
