Ok, so wotw tonight was pretty poor. Turnout for humans was depressingly low, so i thought i would throw an idea out there to get some high lvl chars playing again (this is mainly aimed at hsoma).
So, heres how it works. You make a mob thats beastly enough for top tier chars only, without it being overkill. Now these mobs will only drop barr and single use crafting recipes. When you hover the cursor over the recipe it will tell you the mat reqs, and you would have to add the recipe to the...recipe (if you follow me :o)Now these recipes could work something like this. You take a bog standard +2 Str ring for example, but it has significantly more dura, say 2k, but they could also dropped tagged (hardened, rare, epic, intense) with intense giving you say +5. These could still be upgraded in the usual way too. You could have +dex / +int / +str rings/necky/ear ring recipes. The problem that springs to mind, although im sure there are more, is people monopolising the spawn, but im sure theres a way round that! Thoughts?

Just add a mob higher than BLG to continue that rarely drops items that work like ToE but for tags on items.
WoW would be packed. |

The trouble with WotW is its balanced depending on numbers.
A few weeks ago humans where destroying devils and no devils turned up. The % got tweaked. Now devs destroy humans and no humans turn up. GM's are in a no win situation, because currently it CANNOT be balanced.

Also, with so many high level humans playing high level devs now. They just log on the char that can have an easier time.

A lot of people regard the balance as "FFS I get 2 hit". In fairness a large portion of that is level difference. I intentionally seeked out people I knew to be 95+ to see %age and 187 et al caused me no massive concerns in terms of damaged received.
But then I know the likes will hit and 4th some lower levels. It's probably never a situation that will be balanced sadly in mass terms. But on a damage done with equivalent level - I don't think % was that bad. Yes my client did crash and I did die :(

I don't think it is the balancing issue. It's just there is literally nothing desirable about Conti from
Human perspective. On devil side your mid lvls need for eb's at least. Your high lvls could prolly do with more incentive to hunt in Conti. Eq were the only hold to want Conti because it would just be pilot central at nm's on Conti. Now eq numbers are low, the rest of HSoma just aren't fussed and would rather not get 2 hit. Improve Conti considerably. Give it a purpose and you may get full race turnouts. Only then should balancing of %s be tweaked.

Droprates aside, upping the winner's % to 110% would right there and then give you 10% increased leveling speed above a regular map.

I would like to see mobs dropping items on conti for other race, for example ide like to farm lbs for weps or drazil for bone on my devil, but get no drops, i think that would make human conti more wanted in some way.
