4) Don't harass other players, this entails; 13) You do not own spawn points any attempts to monopolise spawns continuously will result in suspensions.

Hunting by hitting all mobs, including those that other players are hitting is I imagine, fine.
Following someone and negatively affecting their game is called harassment and I don't believe any rule will ever allow it. |

Would hitting someone's mobs be classed as harassing or stopping them from hunting, though? Rule 4 & 13 aren't clear on that.

Rules are open to interpretation however the general census is don't be a dick. If you're doing something in which you have to question if it's allowed or not, chances are it's not.

bottom line is; by attacking the same mob that someone is attacking without their permission is similar to cliffing where the mob is unable to reach u - that is a technicality as some people cliff for dex and not necessarily to be pains.
the more important argument however is that attacking someone else's mob reduces the experience they get as it takes away from the HP of the mob in question, meaning they get less stats and less exp per mob than they usually should; ergo it is hurting their ingame development. if its done without permission, then it is harassment. it is a matter of common courtesy. there are plenty of mobs for everyone, so there is no reason to do so.

Most mobs change target if attacked, but either way it cant be punishable because its just silly. The mob belongs to no one. There is a big difference between hitting all mbos while hunting and following someone with the intention of disruption. The misplaced idea that a mob belongs to someone is something that has irked me ever since Esoma.

On most other games once a mobs been hit no1 gets drop except the guy who hit first, where as soma its last hit this is why theres this unwritten rule about not hitting some1 elses mob IMO

Could quite easily run into BLG hit all the mobs and wait for others to kill them just by getting the first hit...... Kajoken followed me spawn to spawn for 5 others hours one Saturday isylver said it was fine, unfortunately it's a rubbish part of soma

My 2Bit about this would be that your not impeding someone's hunt, its just annoying . Your not making them get less experience because there not spending the same amount of time of the mob as if you was not to attack it in the first place
Say you do half damage then you have also reduced the time on the mob by half. Its like say O you hit the boss first no one else can hit or all the birthday bugs in town that takes forever to kill once yo hit one no one else can participate as well. and having first hit gets drops is stupid. iv been places were its who ever does most damage to mob gets the drops. but here with boss's that be stupid as only the high levels would get them.

In wow the mobs also "forget" the first person to hit them after a time period.
On topic. Following ace around hitting his mobs is allowed. Anyone else's, it's a big no. |

with this version of soma, the experience bar is very efficient, to the 0.01% mark. think about it; hover your mouse over the exp bar whilst hitting and u will see that wth every hit u land, u get % (depends on ur lvl, its easier to notice earlier on). now when two people hunt the same mob, it usually leads to its exp being divided amongst them. and yes, mobs do change targets but it depends on their range. if ur hitting something face-to-face, and say someone is standing a bit farther with a bow or magic, they will not change targets. bottom line; its courtesy, not a law. but everyone's input is very much valuable!
