Crafting q.o.l for accessories

Howdy

Currently to gain skill your only viable option is 3 copper ..
3 copper = basic ring

With X2 still being in place it's just as hard now as it has ever been.

Any chance for a crafting perspective that there could be a basic neckie or earing available to craft with the orc.
2-3 X orc to make. Instead of acc-arm-wep crafter's going for copper for it being the cheapest metal to buy?

Just a thought.

It's needed something like that for a long time. If two or three other people are waiting for copper then you're all walking away with very little. It must be frustrating for people that don't have capped chars to park there all day.

Even a 4 orc item to level it out with weapon crafting would be better than nothing.

Obviously upping the restock amounts would be the simplest thing but people always turn up to say that would result in an uptick of bots. God forbid there's bots everywhere in the game, huh!

Plenty of suggestions in past but all have been ignored....

Most suggested and basic common sense one - increase amounts per restock.

Increase restock intervals to every 10-20 mins.

Add iron metal to restock.

Add stige metal to restock.

Add red metal to restock.

All you ever hear is it plays into the hands of the botters.....

Well if they got band in first fecking place instead of allowed to continue then problem would have been sorted.

Crafters have always been second class citizens of soma.

Crafters have always been looked at as the last resort.

Crafting in soma has huge potential but sadly they are neglected.

The time invested to be a crafter versus everything else on soma is huge for little reward.

As an accessory crafter your basic standard 0 skill for crafting is ......

Ring - 3 copper which 99.9% of players would craft for there skill.

Then you have Bracelet - 4 copper ( why anyone would use up 1 extra of there copper to craft it is why players stick to the ring )

Necklace - 3 iron

Earring - 4 iron (same reason as bracelet )

This is the trouble for accessory crafters, there only source in bulk is copper which most weapon crafters will also buy because it’s cheaper than orc metal.

We have discussed these problems to death and still falls on deaf ears and nothing is ever done to improve the situation.

It needs an overhaul, more different mats need adding to the npc’s to give players a better chance to get enough mats in there respective craft to be able to craft.

It makes no difference how fast you make craft skill gains, if players can’t get enough mats they can’t craft to gain skill.

Hardest crafts to gain skill - potion crafters and accessory crafters.

Piss easy crafts - armour, weapon then cooking

Even if it was like am alt gems. Basic gem that also turned into s metal of choice dropped by all mobs with 3-9 quantity when dropped. So ppl can either pick it up or leave it.
Doesn't even have to be just metal attach most the craft into an alt gem or recreate a gem

I have made a suggestion in past with overhauling how mats drop in the past.

Abit like your suggestion, to help with farming mats.

In that they drop as there respective mat type but only 1 drops at weight 1 but are traded in to a npc that returns 10-15-20 back that way while out farming your not constantly running/warping back to town and can farm for longer.

I know I keep going on about everything with crafting needing a overhaul but it seriously does. From how mats drop from mobs, the farm, the shops (restock) amounts.

If you don’t have mats you can’t craft.

If a mage or warrior want to level they just attack mobs there are no waiting around for 20-50 minutes for the mob to respawn unlike trying to buy mats in abias.

There is absolutely no fun whatsoever hanging around for hours collecting mats to then be able to actually do what you want to do for maybe an hour till your mats run out.

I’ve spent half my soma life just waiting around collecting mats, I don’t want others going through this.
