Spirit Sword skill

Author Content Date
hi there,

i am playing since a few days and like the game so far.
there are just a few things i wonder about.

in order to get the spell "spirit sword" i have to bring the teacher some stuff. i got all but none devils spirit which i need 2 of. is there any way for a lev 10 mage to get 2 of this devils spirits ?

next question is, where can i find the guy who takes the event pumpkins ? is the starter town the "main town" where he should walk around ?

next question, my intelligent wont go up by using my magic skill. but it does go up when i gain a new player level. is this intended ? as i thought u would gain stats while using the skillz they are related to ?

next question, is it even viable to start with a mage as first toon and beeing noob ? since i cant even buy me some pants :p

is there a database to see which spells/skillz are in the game and what they do ?

maybe more questions will come later.

thanx a lot for reading and thanx in advance for some nice answers. (hope so:)

greetz

Welcome to the game! I hope you are enjoying yourself. :)

The main way to get materials in the devil world is through Special Gems we gain them through the conti map as well as mid level and higher mobs. The conti map is a race vs race map which is fought over, we don't have it currently but it's a great place to start off when we do. Up untill then you can find Devil Spirits from Infernal Mantis mobs and mobs above them.

The pumpkin NPC can be found around X:144 Y:888

It is intended to gain stats on level up, on DSoma as a mage you gain stats through punching (to further build on your melee stats) and using magic (to focus on your INT).

Hmmm, as for starting as a mage. It is possible of course, however it will be a challange to find the barr for spells and finding armor. If you can keep it up you will have a very strong characters, there should also be plenty of help available in dsoma. As a tip for money my mate found out that punching is very cheap. Also remember that each special gem can be turned into yellow gems which sell for 400 barr APC. Make sure you don't need any mats first though!

There are some manuals floating about, I must admit I don't have a link to any at this moment.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

Enjoy the game and pm me @ghostlord ingame if you have any problems.

Kind regards,

Ghostlord - your devilish advisor

Punching in DSoma (with ones fist) gives equal to all stats. This means melee characters use it for magic stats (for defence against those pesky humans) and mages can use it to gain more melee stats than they would using magic.

It is something to worry about for higher levels, but it would help a lot to get used to it early on. I must admit however as a mage (and only as a mage) it hardly matters at all when you do your punching, it could be at end game or from lvl 1.

Check this DSoma manual:
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/99548700/JsDSomaManual

It is build for the original european soma, but most of it is still the same.
