I feel when pk mode gets turned off I think it should get replaced by something that encourages good will.
With the introduction of hug mode players can give a loving bro to bro hug (no drifting hands unless both parties agree.) Benefits of hug mode could be heightened levels of friendship. Take care of yourselves, and each other.

Sounds good, could alternate it with care bear mode. All players could wonder round with the skin of a care bear including glowing warm heart
