micro transactions are the back bone of most games now. its what those micro transactions are that are the impact.
reducing the time something takes would be more in line with what wouldn't overtly impact the game as opposed to higher chances of getting something that will make you ultimately stronger. tying in with some of subjects raised recently, something like increase rate of con/weop skill maybe a less damaging idea if you want to entertain it at all and whether the gms would like to generate some income for development

Paying for the server to be hosted has never been an issue, I remember hearing Finito actually gets free hosting for Soma because of the work he does for Dragon Raja. Even if this wasn't the case, the amount of donations the team have received is way more than required to host the server. Donations should have been spent on something like paying someone to make actual new armour/wep skins, that is if the donations weren't pocketed.

Donations typically pay for the VDS,
domains and any social advertising campaigns we do. Although I can verify we do not get a lot on average we're looking at about £10-£25 a month depending there isn't any larger one-offs. In regards to what we spend it on, there may be a time where if we've done a large patch and put countless hours in, then some will be allocated out but this is nowhere near a 100th of what a developer would normally get paid for spending the time doing so. Often we don't break even each month - which isn't a problem as we would rather not have this pay to win. We could be like other games and go down this route easily making thousands but this goes against our ethos as we're aware that unfortunately people do not have expendable income. Hope this clears a few things up.

Is that £25 after paying *bills*? Could we not add other items to the shop? surely between the lot of us a fair way to bring more income!? Stick some advertisements on the website so we can all click them to help maybe? Create a farming map.. £5 for a tp there and auto warp after 2hours.. Drop rates would have to be tweeked like.. For the people who are unfortunate enough to not be able to spent £5 add the tp to the pos shop for 5k pos...

That £25 is before bills, normally our VDS should cost 39.99 a month but I managed to sort a deal for a period of time where it was free: Our domains are around £26 a year, Facebook adverts etc vary. As someone above said, were quite lucky that our game server is hosted for free.
I can assure you we don't get a lot of donations although we have kindly had the odd £50 donation every now and again. We knew from the start we wouldn't make money (I know DR make quite a bit with their cash shop). It's also worth reiterating that pretty much every month I get approached with a "let me buy stats" message which is always declined. The integrity of the game is much more important and hence why our team is close knit and on a small scale + trustworthy volunteers with this niche knowledge are hard to come by ha.

I think you should add rested exp scrolls/potions to the shop. Not like the ones in game already that give you a minute amount but ones that will give u a decent chunk. All it will do is save people time and bring in more revenue.

I think its a shame that you have to pay for this out of you own pocket and i believe that alot of people wouldnt mind certain things being added to the donation page. This would really help with maintaince costs.
Maybe we could vote on a few things to add? if anyone gets overwhelming votes then add it in. Many people have had ideas a few of them below. Transmogrification, I believe its possible for you guys to change the appearance of items (manually) this wouldnt effect anyone ingame about from cosmetics and certain people seem to want to have this done (i'd love to see people not running around in hallo pads skin constantly) Reduction of certain Skills / Crafting skills so people can respec. (could even sell respec tokens for a large amount e.g swapping 100 staff for 100 knuckle) Moral boosting, not exactly game breaking but we'll see what people think Double XP potions (double stats for 24 hour or such) would work along side rested for 4x Double skill potions same as above Selling POS wouldnt be too game breaking Name changes (obviously logged and public) theres a few aura skins / recolours laying around could purchase a different skin for auras, again doesn't change much as is completely cosmetic but people like to stand out.
