Probably a bit late in the day to change upgrading lol but....
Just a little thought was to make failures different. So when you fail you have a 33.3% chance of losing the item. 33.3% chance of nothing happening. 33.3% chance of reversing the upgrade to the previous state meaning if you had a +4 item and it failed it could either break, remain the same or go back to +3. Going +1 the fail would then be either 50% loss of item or 50% remain the same. or 66.6% the same and 33.3% loss as you cant revert to a previous state. Just an idea, like i said probs a bit late in the day to change the brutal upgrade system.

Dont be daft. Nothing needs changing. People have +6 +7 and +8 items. isnt that brutal. And why would you want to upgrade when nothing happens or remains the same? Doesnt make sense.
