I was wondering what the pros and cons were for each.
On esoma my understanding as that 100 white gave you 10-10 MA and 100 blk gave you 10-10MD, no idea what 100 blue did lol. However i heard today that this isnt the case, as blk mages cant do wraiths naked at 65 int, which u cud on esoma. Also, it was my understanding that blk magic was underpowered on esoma post Cont patch, as iron fist massively outweighed any blk spell. Have the wicked and devil spells been increased or are they still low attack? Finally, I am currently blk mage hunting with spirit sword, what should i be using? crystal arrow, death blow? Just seems that white is more beneficial than blk as the previous benefits of blk seem to have been taken away.

wraiths now do blue dmg but lich lords and shadows etc still use black so you get extra MD against them. Also black magic spells now have the same power as white the only downside is explosion is range 4 where as iron fist is 5. plus u dont get cure poison :(
Most people use spirit sword or light sword until at least 65 int because of how small people's mana pools are on this server, so get level 3 if u havent already

Well he's only just started playing on this server so he wasn't quite sure of some of the changes made. He was also asking for peoples opinions on the pros and cons of each in order to plan for the long term.

It isn't a change. It has been this way since the start of ESoma. Magic skill has always given MD AND MA.

Also explosion has been changed to higher attack to equal out iron fist, though u have to go wicked moral to learn it...
White Mage pro's: cure, no need to lose moral to learn iron fist, slight less mp usage, slow. Black Mage pro's: blind, confuse, poison, better df against Lich lord and prismatic entity (though this is minor as most white mages start these at same time as black) White Mage con's: less defense against Lich lord and prism's, not sure if it's true but slower casting time from black. Black Mage con's: no cure spell, having to lose moral to learn explosion etc, slightly more mo usage then white. I'm sure there are other things but I've just woken up and can't think. Hope this helps though.

Only thing thats black had was extra def against wraith but that got taken away because enough people/fags moaned about it. The same fags that moan about everything in order to make the game easier and defer it from its original design. Extra range on lvl 3 SS is all I can think of that helps a black mage. At least explosion was made the same as IF, but still costs more mana I think.

Cure lvl 1/2 should remove 1 status
Cure lvl 3 should remove 2 status Cure lvl 4 should remove all That together with the cast time needs to be changed as at the minute it's way too easy for a white mage to cancel out any black mages spells really |

Black magic got massive buff first, blacks getting their atk buffed meant whites should get something equally important to them. It was the black "fags" moaning that changed the original design.[/quote]

White is still the better magic to learn at a later level, cure is OP. I'm black mage, only cos I prefer hunting with explosion and was able to take Prism slightly earlier than a white Mage comfortably.

IMO a white mage would always beat a black mage without serums - cure and slow makes it ridiculous for a black mage to even compete. Would be alot better if they introduced a cure for blue, black and white; blue cures blue, black cures black and white cures white.
Just give white mages a new "assist" spell, maybe an exhaustion spell which reduces a characters run speed or something or some other idea and balance is restored.

Consider how many white and how many black mages are ingame, and you can figure out witch is best. Shouldent be to hard.
