"FINITO"@LUPISCUS Delete game.ver within client directory then run the launcher again. Also run the launcher as administrator (though it should already be doing that itself). ok I have downloaded and reinstalled the client from the "download" and from the dropbox mirror, changed all the versions as tried above, turned off av and firewall but every time I try and run the launcher nothing at all happens. my target is set as "C:\Myth of Soma\SomaDevLauncher.exe" game version has gone from 76 to 80 and launcher version from 4 through 6 still cant get it to run. any ideas???

@PINOT Should already have a shortcut that the client installer makes on the desktop for the launcher. But can add a shortcut with target "C:\Myth of Soma\SomaDevLauncher.exe".
Also really should go through the launcher for playing the game, the direct shortcut to the client is only needed if want to run multiple clients.
If above fails then re-download (because possibly the client installer that already have is outdated) and re-install the game client.[/quote]

@PINOT I need more info. If you managed to patch it from the version of the downloaded client to version 80 then the launcher was working. So what is the problem now?

I don't know then, if it can patch to version 80 it should be able to patch to version 81. Just copy the client from your other computer for now. But will need to find out why it doesn't work because going to keep having same problem with every patch.

Fin, when I double click the short cut to launch that is put on desktop by the installer (I change nothing) the cursor spins for about 10 seconds then nothing at all. Task manager says nothing is running I am win 10 ver 1607 - this is the same problem I had when we had to manually add the C++ 86 patch last time and only way I could get client to run then was to change target to somafull.

PINOT's issue has been fixed and was because the SomaDevLauncher.exe had compatibility mode set to Windows 98/ME.
So in the properties of SomaDevLauncher.exe check that it is set like this: SomaDevLauncher.exe Properties Also check SomaWindow and SomaFull are also not running in a compatibility mode. Windows keeps the compatibility settings even after re-installing a program because it does it by the process path and file name.
