The low level, low bag weight players who attain SR in very short periods of time after seemingly never logging off. I suggest that if that if there is still botting in game then it please be stopped somehow. Thank you. |

How low is low?
Why not post on your main? I ask because repeatedly these types of threads bother me. Report your finding if any to a gm This is ideas and suggestions, not report a conspiracy To the best of my knowledge all bots currently known are blocked and flagged by the auto ban The standard price for an sr atm is a herb which tells me that demand is high but those able to provide it is lower. If your conspiracy held any weight, srs would either not sell or sell for Barr... Like they did when the bots were actually about.. People working on getting sr on their alts is redundant as its easier to get to 100 on two chars than x2 sr on one. If you are an actual crafter yourself you'd know. You'd also know that low bag weight kills the mood to craft but you stick at it. Low level as a measure of botting is the height of horse shit nonsense I've read about in ages

Thanks for your reply Typhin. A character with neutral moral and a name that is unfamiliar would point to a low level character. Low level not so much being a measure of botting but an indicator, low level and being on a fresh account would mean there less to lose if a player was banned. In the past botting / macroing was done on low levels for that very reason so your ''height of horse shit'' remark doesn't hold any sway although it does have a good ring to it.
There is no conspiracy here, only observations. The word curious was in the title of the post - as i genuinely am. I'm not making any accusations. Perhaps I worded the post a little directly as its seems a sensitive subject for you which is fair enough for whatever reason. I used the word ''I suggest'' so it would qualify for the ideas and suggestions forum, I felt it was better posting here that on the main forum due to it having a negative tone. I prefer not to post off my main as its easier to approach subjects on the forum without debates or issues carrying over into the game. If it was a personal dispute then that would be a different matter. Could you help me out with something else? Why would a player crafting drop crafted daggers at one second intervals on the way back to resupply mats from stash when it would be quicker to sell 10 or so at the npc. The guys running the game are obviously doing an outstanding job but there's always someone who finds a way around. You say all known bots are currently flagged, what would stop players developing improved versions? Feel free to educate me as I know nothing of the technicalities. Curiosity, that is all Typhin.

Fresh accounts are irrelevant. Gms can track all accounts relating to an ip address which you will see when they threaten a blanket ban on all associated accounts and even shared accounts depending on how irritated by the breach of terms of service.
As to your observations of folks dropping daggers on route to restock. I have noticed this to some extent. My own conclusions to this behaviour however are different as in my own experience and from discussions with other crafters. Those would be: People are weirdos and do strange things sometimes. Drawing with items Littering with items Low bagweight preventing both the free slot and weight required to carry out a trade often conducted on the same alt/store char who keeps goodies posted on forum for sale. Particularly as some folks can be quick to drop a trade agreement if you don't jump to complete a trade quickly enough. People are fickle and particularly in game. If I entertain your concerns the more likely observation would be where a player crafts all items and sells none saving up to 30mins at higher skill and even at that you would observe only 1 dagger or pair of boots being dropped per restock to free the slot for the two materials as opposed to the one required for access. Crafting without selling is not against any rules. So even if you spot this behaviour, it is not a demonstration of bot activity. If you suspect a player. Send a pm to a gm. They can then login and monitor the behaviour and in fact move the player so the player begins to run around if a bot is at play. I was moved a couple of years ago. It's annoying but settles any concerns. I currently have two windows going with one doing access and one doing cooking. Im not rich enough to not sell my rings so it's a constant juggle which to my knowledge could not be replicated by bot.

Cheers.
I understand all your points. The thing that got my attention was the player who was dagger dropping was doing so in a rigid pattern for long periods of time and even picking up some of the daggers he had dropped while on his way back to the forge. A player maintaining this kind of movement would result in more effort than anything else. I'll take your advice, if its a legit concern i'll take evidence and submit.

Even with no evidence, send the gms a message with the names and your suspicion, keep a eye on it yourself, gain evidence , gms may pop ingame and check the char out without any evidence

Fair enough. I may have come across a little heavy. It's a residual effect from a period of time where everyday on the forum, there were threads full of abstract theories with no conclusion and only inflammatory nonsense.
I also acknowledge that its difficult to keep up with all the redundancy methods gms have developed but I suspect that is intended to make it more difficult for people to evade them.
