We've had some epic Guild Village Wars already on this server and admittedly 2-3 none events. One thing I'd like to see Isylver & Finito tap into is giving the smaller guilds and mid levels more incentive to turn up.
The first thing that comes to mind is guild alliances. If Rebirth turned up next week it would be EQ, DY and Rebirth and I bet the average Rebirth member would feel very exposed in that scenario. However If it was possible to /guildalliance Nightblades all of a sudden they've got more numbers and even a chance of winning if they worked together to get Iphios on the stone last 5 minutes with heals an cures. The rewards would obviously be the controversial topic of discussion. Perhaps Trace is distributed evenly between the two guilds, ie if a guild wins solo it gets all 9 Trace spots as normal. Two allied guilds get 4 or 5 Trace spots each. This is to discourage the top 2 strongest guilds allying an reaping just as much benefits. Then if Rebirth & Nightblades go FireTrap & DarkLegacy might join in an so on. If those 4 guilds or more turned up in numbers the average level 35-55ish guy wouldn't feel so exposed. Another idea is to change the respawn point depending on your level. Doing the long run from current spawn 10+ times per war would be discouraging for a mid level. If levels 25-54ish could spawn just outside Village Gates it would be less of a slog. Feel free to brain storm this thread for more ideas but try to stick to solutions that are reasonably possible to implement.

I completely agree.. as time goes on its less and less fun for lower levels.. I know that quite a few members of NBs for example don't turn up any more just to get killed over and over by people 30-40 levels higher.
Is there any way of having it so that at the GVW you cant attack someone more than 15 levels below? That way the stronger guilds would NEED some lower level members in order to attack the low levels?

I dont think a cap on who you can attack is the answer. A lot of the mid level people probably dont realise how important a role they play just making up the numbers. Winning gvw has always been about team work an it's the lower level curers/blinders/confusers that so often dictate the outcome of a war. I've played it from both view points and making someone who is tough enough to hold the stone walk backwards when someone dies is very satisfying. There could be wars amongst the mid level healers/curers if thers big turn outs.

I would be more than willing to turn up to GVW as an alliance with another guild who does not have the numbers or power to complete/ help another guild more capable of winning the war win it. However, as mentioned at a price....
The valid point you have made is the important role of lower level players and lower level guilds at the war, it is a team effort and the team should be rewarded. Of course my point of view could be construed as a little selfish, but that is life and an GVW winners allies should be rewarded with a reward commensurate with the effort and assistance involved with helping win a war. Such as trace.

I do like this idea as would mean more people each week, and as this week showed when sylver guild turned up they had a good go and i believe even got on stone towards then end. Unfortunately tho alliances as of two weeks ago are no longer allowed and would result in no one having guild village hence this week just gone it was a free for all and a very good one i must say! So on that basis from now on as FFA you all have a good chance so come along :)

With regard to the Alliance issue, was the issue not just that the two top guilds with probably 40 active members between them were winning it all the time?

Shatter, EQ an DY dissolved the Guild Village alliance this week. It was a free for all an a good war.
Plum timed it perfectly an had 9 pots left. If firetrap, rebirth, nightblades, sylver, darklegacy an whoever else turned up I dont think anyone would be tanking stone for 10 minutes. Kill/stop plums healers an curers, get xzelpher, linkdx, Kalestone or iphios next to stone an heal them an you never know, there have been more surprising outcomes in esoma.

You can make a formula that counts average stats of all guild members . Like the one on forum about pos . Then make a cap of a strong guild can allie with another guild . Lets say Dynamic is average 100 on its members stats cant be allie with a guild that has average above 80 . So strong guilds will look for less strong guilds to be allies with and get help at gvw . Put trace for the allied guild as well and both guilds will be happy . Then count the avarege stats of one allience n cap it there too . Lets say Dynamic 100 average and Angels_Fury 50 allience average 75 . One allience cat pass the 100 average there for they cant allie Firetrap tha have average 65 . Something like that .
