Would it be possible to have a look at putting a large mana dump on 'cure', or giving it a cool down time/extended casting time - or even giving it to black magicians as well as white?
As it stands all spells such as blind/poision etc are completely obsolete and the bgw wasted on waters for black mages to even compete with white mages is ridiculous. Cheers!

There have been plenty of good ideas for cure aswell as other spells. Specific spells are OP and need looking in to. Look at the 'Ideas and Suggestions' section.

Perhaps, but it just makes the situation for black mages even worse.. it's already the case that in pvp a white mage will always beat a black of similar stats.
If gms won't put a cooldown or big mana dump on cure then at least give people a reason to stay with black magic.. (im not sure the slight md on prismatic shadows qualifies!)

"ONAGA""KNUTSEL" Luther used to pk alot of noobs as he did int early. Now the game has moved on and these noobs have gained int, he cant do it. Hence why hes "complaining". However I agree with luther here, blk is highly underpowered. Cure and blind etc aside. Explosion is weaker than IF and has a wicked moral req. Iron fist has the same power but +1 range with no moral req. I personally started off as black mage as i heard moral req blk spells had been upped. Once i heard they hadnt, i changed to magic. I had 85 white skill learning one white spell. Iron Fist. Personally I think cure is OP and should have a higher req. Say 70 int and possibly even angel moral req. To prevent nub characters spamming it and not being able to be killed. Similarly a min lvl req applied to slow, blind, confuse, poison etc. So if it is grief tactics, at least the player can be attacked. I also believe that the blk moral req spells explosion and hellfire should have 1. The same range as their white counterparts 2. More power than their white counterparts. IF is 32, explosion should be 32 imo. Not sure if flamestrike is fxed, if it is make it 36. But hellfire, dev moral req, definately shud be 36 power imo. This wouldnt make them stronger than Drangons breath BUT would give a nice damage boost to blk vs wht, making pvp a bit more interesting. as there wil be the added 10-10 MA. Just my 2 cents.

Move reflect from a blue skill to a black skill. BOOM. Now black I would say is balanced with white and reflect is no longer an OP spell that 100% of people have.
Think about it, then thank me later. |

There's no incentive for black apart from the defense on prisms. I agree and think that all the later powers should have more power then their white counterparts

Pretty good idea, still after prisms at 90+ int, the majority of the game is still white magic, (myself included) Even if reflect is made to black, cure is still way too good...

Have a feeling this is easier said than done though, with it being learnt at the blue mage lady etc.. I think an easier fix would be that cure is given an 'Angel' moral requirement, is given quite a substantial mp dump, or black magic is boosted in some way (explosion, hellfire damage increased).
