I can see you trying to bring in new players but the average new comer isn't gonna go straight to somadevlaucher.ini and change the res to 1366x768, 1440x900 or say 1920x1080? I only found out like 2 days ago! :( and looks much better so anyone playing it will see 800x600 as default and have boarders down each side in fullscreen mode and think looks rough that!

Well one of the main reasons right now to not make it any easier is that no other resolutions are fully supported. Anything other than the original 800x600 might cause problems though 1024x768 seems really stable but there is still map glitches etc.
So yeah more resolutions could be offered and could let people pick them from a list but we can't gurantee they will even work. The option will have to be added to the launcher though which causes other issues as some players do not use the launcher all the time to launch the game. So any issues they have with a resolution saved to the ini would need to be reported to them somehow so they can manually adjust or run the launcher again.
