The damage reduction over range is decent idea, or just cap the speed on em. I wanna see some gret axes swinging about

Think it needs to more than that, I'd sooner see range 3. Damage reduction over distance would be fairer tho..
e.g. 1 square difference = 100%. 2 square 100% (since spear has range 2). range 3 - 95%, range 4 - 85%, range 5 - 75%. It probably needs to be even more than that tbh.

I prefer that the range and items are not chaged so reducing damage at further range is a good idea. Another idea is to reduce attack speed at further range.

Yeah, hsoma and dsoma can be balanced separately and use something different if need to. Also remember this Bow change would just be one change of many that will happen. We are going to make general combat, PvP, and RvR a lot more interesting and varied. We don't like the 1 or 2 hitting (I would say we can all agree that this is really boring) that can happen or the massive advantages or disadvantages some weapons or classes have over others.
