I've just hit the skill cap, would like to start using a different weapon, but it's going to completely nerf my staff skill as I haven't taken over the next weapon skill with staff as of yet.
Could we get some kind of scrap skill donation added to the store? It's difficult to balance out when you've reached the skill cap.. Time consuming. Can't see it being a game breaking idea, know everyone else has had to go through it. Just think it would bring in a little bit, there's not much I'll ever desperately need from the store.. But would definitely go for this on a few of my chars. Cheers

You get 370, if you cap up 1 wep to 200 and are dangerously close to 170 on another, use a knuckle (or other fast wep you dont intend to use) to bring the 170 back down again (if you want to keep the 200 as it is).
Wep skill from 0 - 10 or 20 goes so fast compared to a wep at 150+, so should keep you going for a bit longer til you cap. Then just keep topping the wep back up when needed.

Just had the exact same problem wth my best wep skill wasn't my long term one weapon.
Painful process unfortunately |

Also, that being said, if you wanted to nerf your 200 skill wep, then it's worth just levelling your other wep to 185.1, then using another wep to reduce the now 184.9 wep without nerfing your staff...
Either way is, what Foxtrck said, painful |

400 total would make so much more sense.

I use to think the same until you think that the change in doing this would mean a character could have 2x 200 skill weapons. I think the original purpose of the 370 limit would you could be a master of one weapon but not another.
Think it may be better to have an NPC that would lock a certain skill in place and lower the next highest skill down. Failing that, an NPC that would let you set a skill to 0.0, even if there was a cost.
