other items for shield slot

Since Axers have PD and shield maybe have items for other class/skills can use in shield slots? giving extra def or MD

Must be skill requirement to use?

Examples
Knuckler = Gauntlets 90 knu skill req with 5-5 DF/MD
Archer = Quiver 90 bow skill req with 5-5 DF/MD
Mage = Emblem 90 staff skill with 5-5 DF/MD
Spear = Seal 90 spear skill with 5-5 DF/MD

I know spear and bow are 2 handed weapons, not sure on sword since they can use shield.

discuss, add to or say its a shit idea

I like it perhaps it could be more things that increase attack rather than increase defense possibly giving str more power within the game vs int.

For example:

- Leather Quiver + 5-10 Attack
- Knuckle Grinder +5-10 Attack
- Pointed tips + 5-10 Attack
- Whetstone + 5-10 Attack

Sounds good but would have to different items at different level/skill points so everyone benefits only probs is will make axers/archers hit harder where MD might be more useful vs INT

Maybe have 1 item that cant be traded or dropped but starts at low level/skill then once you get to the next level/skill do a quest that upgrades it to the next stage?

Example
Quest at level 10 for starting item 1~2 atk
then quest at 30 to change to 2~4 atk
quest at 50 for 3~6
quest at 70 for 4~8
quest at 90 for 5~10

i know its alot of work for you and finto but would increase atk power vs int slower than making it 1 big impact change

Or make it scale on level?

1-1 attack multiplied by 20% of your level so the max possible you could get is 20-20 attack at 100

Level 10 has 2-2 attack
Level 20 has 4-4 attack
Level 30 has 6-6 attack
Level 40 has 8-8 attack
Level 50 has 10-10 attack
Level 60 has 12-12 attack
Level 70 has 14-14 attack
Level 80 has 16-16 attack
Level 90 has 18-18 attack
Level 100 has 20-20 attack

If these figures are too high (although seems good with giving as much attack as shield does defence)

Then 10% meaning a max of 10-10 attack at 100 would be amazing.

May be easier to create 10 quests of varying difficulty for each upgrade.

This is for both races (might help damage to devils for human melee also) I would even be happy with humans having 40% of their level in attack

40-40 dmg would help a lot to rebalance damage.

EDIT: But seriously, I have always thought classes that couldn't use shields (except bow) were a bit handicapped against classes that could (escpeically since I heard Shields got buffed). This'd be a nice addition to even the playing field... Although I'm really not sure if Bow should get one (or at least a lot weaker than the others).

That's not the idea jara it should be for ALL who don't have access to a shield

Then make the Bow version weaker. Range is already a big enough advantage.

if it is purely attack based knuckle gains the most from it as they hit twice as fast as spear for example they'd get more from it. If you wanted to micro balance it like that then knuckle should be half damage but I think knuckle having more base dmg is beneficial to the game balance personally. Sword and axe wouldn't be able to use them so the fact archer is fast hitting and so dexy I suppose it would be very strong to give them the same as slow hitting low Dex like spear

I agree with you there, that knuckle should have the least damage boost.

rather than flat out increase damage for knuckle an increase in damage range - ie from 120~134 add 0~15 to make it 120~150ish

at the moment most of knuckle damage is absorbed by DF, so although they hit faster they hit for alot less.
