If this is a bug, then it has been around since E-Soma. Kobold tooth lowers the dura of a crafted item when you use it in the recipe.
If it's intention is just to add quality to the craft then I understand that the dura loss is the price to pay, if it doesn't and does something else, could you shed light on what it's purpose is. Or if a typo has been around since the beginning making item lose dura instead of gain it, then I assume it is a bug. Specifically tested them with weapons, unsure what effect they have or don't have on the other metal crafts.

From what I know kobold tooth seems to have no effect on accessory items and for other item types it adds between -10% and 5% durability.
Other Jewel/Gem items can also add negative amount (though they have significantly higher maximum value): Amber -3%~31% Werewolf Jewel -7%~14% Bull Jewel -7%~14% Lich Jewel -5%~23% Swamp Beast Gem -2%~37% Skeleton Jewel -4%~43% Gazer Crystal -8%~18% So it is on purpose though Kobold Tooth could maybe do with higher than maximum 5% dura added but it is an easy item to get hold of in bulk.

Ok thanks for taking the time to write back. Upon my testing I had only noticed negative dura, but this explains a lot. Nothing needs to be done to change it, really, as it seems to have been intentionally implemented.
