I make far more money every hunt at Conti ABs on my melee devil despite the barr nerf each hunt then I ever made at EGF. Besides... As a new mage, no monster you can hunt before EGF drops enough money to even sustain the cost of mana potions. Each spell you wish to learn has a massive price tag (Crystal-X 200k, Deathblow-X 300k, Black Lightning-X 400k, Explosion-X 500k). Getting onto EGF you've probably already spent the best part of 1million barr in pots and for spells (this is if you've ONLY bought Explosion-X, not the others) and now for EGF to be profitable, you'll need to upgrade Firestorm to Firestorm-X as the former is far too mana inefficient for the damage output. This upgrade sets you back another 1mill barr. So now you've spent about 2million barr (that you don't have) on pots/spells to get to EGF, you can start making that money back for the next 15 levels. Profits made at GS are now lower than they used to be due to reduced droprate (about 30k per hunt profit) and at DD you start making a loss again. [/quote]
