Is there any benefit to gain from this?

There is a char called RYU and LION on dsoma who is constantly in town with auras casting pretty much 24/7

Any light on this would be nice

Weapon skill while afk is all I can think of

It's pointless for him as hes capped on both anyway lol and a devil, but if you cast aura enough (stupendous amounts of times, especially at that level) you could gain almost pointless amounts of str over an extended period.

No idea why he's doing it though.

I remember once when asked they said that they used to have a load of trouble logging in, so they'd afk spamming auras or afk attacking the dummy, but if that's the case this time, who knows.

I assumed they were chasing the ingame soma age.

Either way its utterly pointless so whatever.

Someone told me that they are doing it so the char is active and doesnt get booted off the server for being afk for a prolonged period of time.

A lot of them do it for silent meditation also.
