I normally hate it when pk goes off, but fair enough for all the returning players to enjoy 2x xp before the patch.
player count in dsoma is crazy high atm, be a shame if they got pked away before they even got started |

Show me where on the feed a returning player was unprovoked killed on dsoma :(, am pretty sure its those pesky humans, i can feel a strong police presence on dsoma pretty sure they can take care of the lvling community ;[

Ghost, can you confirm if the pk rules will be the same post-patch as pre-patch?
By that I mean angel life and pk as a valid playstyle, not an offence, and the cause for bans being harrassment (meaning sustained chasing from spawn to spawn) and grieffing (many many kills of a player in a short period of time)? I'm just trying to think how the etiquette guide might work with a new mob spawn, and if there is only one of them. Surely pking someone who hunts at the same spawn as you is valid as gameplay, but if they go away for a bit and come back - it should still be if you are still just hunting there, yeah?

But Strelka, who said there would be only one spawn? :P
PK mode was disabled for both races. |

Ok, more than one spawn does help things!
I'm just worried that a lot of players coming back don't (or won't) fully grasp the soma etiquette and actual rules of pk/pvp and immediately cry harrassment or abuse (and PM you) because they got killed a few times. Already with a few old/inactive players who came back for the double exp event were pming me 'X in your guild is harrassing me, I'm recording it and will report if it doesn't stop' when the person literally went grey on them 2 times in 5 hours. Then there's the whole 'justification' issue? If someone PM's me abuse or kills many of my guild members they can't really be 'unfairly harrassed' can they? Anyway, just trying to use this thread to head off some potential problems and drama. You mentioned ideally a 'warning' system beforehand if a player hasn't clearly been breaking etiquette but is maybe going a bit too heavy on the pk, that would be a really good idea if it's not too taxing on your time.

Each report needs a different reaction. Sometimes a warning is good enough, sometimes I can't do anything at all. Other times people wish death on others and a ban is instant.
It'll continue as it was. And, as you said, this will bring some problems. It's up to those who know the rules and limits to stick to them and try to communicate them with others. It's up to me to enforce them and also to spread the word on how it works. Usually this goes through conversations through PM as most people know by now. Luckily the rules don't change very often, so I guess most will know by now. New people shouldn't have too much trouble understanding them as they're quite straight forward.
