How cool would it be if when we opened the map the could see all our guild members, like when we are in a party, could there be a guild function where you open a map and see all the orange spots of where our buddies are hunting?

Could make the orange icons green for Guildies. Green chat/green guild name/green circles! ;D

That's actually a great idea to encourage more team play. Soma doesn't work too well in 'co-ordinating' groups of people. And a flash of the map would be far better to automatically gather on a boss etc or on even a PK...
