Devil PvP is ridiculous at the moment.

This thread is not to:

- Bash GMs. They have made an amazing patch, but the balance is not in a good place at the moment
- To discuss class balance, that's a whole different issue. I think we are mostly there with it anyway (other than archers being OP, mages being destroyed, spears needing a bit more def).

This thread is to discuss how PvP currently functions in Dsoma, and what the issues are.
Firstly, it is boring because damage is so high that people avoid engaging each other at all costs - hence everyone runs around in circles and doesn't do damage for fear of dying . Secondly, it is unenjoyable because zero coordination or teamwork is involved in killing a player - you just wait for a 5th axe to go off, or another aura to be used, and you use yours.

Heres what I mean.

In this video it was a 3v3 fight. You'll notice I've had to speed it up 4x, so a 7 minute video represents 25 minutes of pvp. 25 minutes of running circles. These clips that are 45 seconds or people running circles with zero action are actually 3 minutes in reality - thats tragic. Please remember we are NOT talking about melee chasing archers, we are talking about melee running from each other...in small, equal number fights.

Every class other than mage is represented in these, as people swapped over. Everyone was heavily heavily geared too (other than maybe bl00d_shot who has less). We didn't have any voice chat coz 2 of us were at work, and it looks like Mutiny didn't either - so keep in mind how this would be if everyone could drop auras at the exact same second.

You can see instances (like the last death in the video - when I am stoned) where a player is unable to outpot the non-aura damage of two others. Things like that are why people don't engage in melee.

Axe auras are so heavily bugged at the moment. 5th axe does not work 10 times more often than it does. This makes the class useless and playing extremely frustrating.

So whats the point in this?

1. Dsoma PvP is simply terrible now. Damage is FAR too high for defence, and the resulting experience is not fun. It's instant death or running a marathon - and nothing inbetween.

2. If nothing changes, and we have to wait a year until people have defensive gear, then I know that most people will have given up due to frustration by then. I do think that everyone having access to CON gear in the same way they do to RDT and DEX stuff now will help this situation a bit - but given that my guild, full of active and hard-leveling people, has seen 1 yellow tab drop so far....really puts perspective on how long until people have the option to boost defence.

Thoughts? Ideally from people who have to go through this experience.

With the greatest respect you need to be patient - the patch went out less than a week ago and we’ve already added elements to address this. You would not get that response rate from any other game never mind one run by 3 volunteers.

It certainly doesn’t need multiple threads - have patience and leave it with us.

If it keeps on like this, too many ppl are going to become too frustrated and move on to something else / hsoma.



I don't see this really being much if an issue, people still stuck around when axers were broken for 2 years.

I don't think a con increase will be needed until people get better con+upgraded armour, people already have CT+ armour

A new shield aswell as an already decent con boost necklace 5-7 con (similar to SH untag-intense) along with a defence ring to replace Dfs, (+5con / wis / Dex?) will be more than enough and alot faster to get than enough con upgrades,

Maybe keep the con earring as a soul item?

2x rings/ 6con necklace and new shield, that's already 20-25more defence without even using con upgrades. And wouldn't take more than a week to farm

Maybe add the necklace / rings to tarks along with SH (no level 100+ wants to farm Wbm for a sh)

Remove those shitty +30hp necklaces from tarks also ( or boost them alot +100hp at a minimum so they're worth using)



Think this is more than enough to balance it out alot and pretty damn fast too (once rings/necklace have been added) , con upgrades aren't needed straight away they can be farmed over time, people already have e CT armour if they want defence


This pvp is still 10x better than pre-patch aswell even with the high damage across the board

I hope I didn't give the impression we didn't appreciate the patch or the effort of the game staff. I do, a lot.

Just felt like a lot of people in dsoma are feeling the same way, every thread I made is with the full agreement of this guild, and adding more and more evidence to back these discussions gives the GMs a chance to see how the game is playing out among those who are really active.

I won't make any more threads, or raise the topic again. Think I've said all I can anyway. Thanks for the reply!

To be honest, and I know my gear isn't exactly up to par, but archers aren't that great, we still drop very easily now if we aren't careful...Have engaged more in some pvp and if I was to pick a class atm it wouldn't be archer, would probably be spear.

So I guess as Isy says, give it time and we will see how things pan out, but I do think the DPs taken on any class is a bit high atm.

as a spear i don't really want to be upgrading con, and i cant equip a shield

so nothing has change for me

i was looking at the attack bonus purely from skill , and it gives me like 105 min attack bonus, this may be a quick fix to our dmg output (tho if we lose more attack i think mobs need a little nerf also)

also think the class's need there amount of stats making the same (in str/dex/con), so archer dosnt end up with most magic def out of all the class's

I honestly feel like sword has nothing but 5th tbh. We no longer have dex on any class really, our str is low as is con. I know we're meant to be the middle ground but with the stats being pushed so much closer together, our little advantages vs each class we had have pretty much disappeared.

musasji,if ur 5th aura just took 60~70%hp from ur target wth u need more?

What I need as a swordie is more than an aura as I already stated. Maybe a chance of hitting after it and not being hit by absolutely everyone almost all the time lol. Really and truly though it’d be nice to have some sort of stat advantage on a class that isn’t borderline pointless. It’s frustrating to have the exact same dex (I’m not exaggerating) while everyone else got a boost, then the fact I’ve lost 40 str doesn’t help and I’m sure other classes other than punch archers didn’t lose that much.

Waga if your class can hit very reliably, stand in zombie pads whilst you avoid getting hit with absolute ease, hurt targets etc.. what else do you need?

i wish i can stand like u saying dont make archers so op just for the range all i need is ur aura and hit from lvl 70 to die,right u dont have a good range but just a second,u have an op 5th,u can wear a shield ,again u cant be wonderfull class musasji
