I’m levelling my archer, but we’re discussing pvp and I guess the GM’s and others would enjoy some class diversity? If you don’t have anything constructive to say then keep it to yourself.

Bow isnt overpowered, but people wont stand still currently so bow only one getting hits

We have less str and con then everyone, and although more dex its less then before

People moaning they need more con to pvp and need con upgrades, CTs add df to armour and been around long enough to build a decent defence set as melk and kek can agree

every class does insane damage now days and there is no balance at the moment you don't even need to co ordinate much to kill some1 just get a stone then a hit+5th or x2 hit+4ths from archers boom dead etc.

Pre patch days people didn't run around they were fighting and we had loads of classes fights were taking longer and you had to proc zombie then time hit+4th/2nd/5ths to get a kill

Trying to provide feedback to GMs that is constructive and evidenced. Slagging each other off better ingame.

Maybe I just feel like sword is terrible because I’ve gone from having good stats, to being the same as every other swordie and the gaps have been closed between stats v other classes. Just feels painfully average other than an aura that’s hard to even use with the current state of pvp.



This is true though.

5th alone makes sword a necessity in group pvp, but archer is deeply OP at the moment. Any archer that says it isn't is just not thinking objectively.

As an archer you can be useful, even deadly, and play in a way that you should never die. Other classes cannot say that.

I’ll get personal if someone gets personal with me, simple as that. I’m here trying to discuss something and have someone tell me I’m crying or learn some skills, whilst ignoring anything of any relevance lol. Notice how anyone who discusses properly gets a proper reply?

However you basically summarised it perfectly with that last paragraph tbh.

I dont think swords in a bad place, think dex is everything atm and everyone going to be upgrading dex, think sword needs a buff to its 2nd aura now that we can use 2 auras together

Would have liked to try spear using 5th and 2nd togeather, feel the cool down of 5th current would make it perfect(feel like every class other than sword/spear and mage have gained massively from 2 auras)

Archer dmg/hit rate and range all together what makes them op, take one away and there on par with everyone

The truth is the game can't ever be perfectly balanced and that's not the GM's fault obviously it's the games creators. Archers will always have an advantage due to range and as we have seen previously if you reduce archers attack they do zero damage due to the games defence mechanics.

I think the biggest thing is we need to appreciate the fact that some classes will have a nemesis class if stats get moved around again e.g an archer might not be able to hurt an axer but that's a trade off for having large range.

Spear 5th being classed as a defensive aura, and then doing no damage but healing the same amount would be pretty good. Maybe the numbers or % has to be manipulated, but a huge lifesteal for like 75% hp would help spears in terms of survivability - as well as just give them something else to use than 1st. I dont think it would be justified to allow a spear to do full dmg 2nd and full dmg 5th within 1/4 of a second however. If it's reworked it has to lose its instant case dmg status in return for utility.

2nd sword is pretty pointless at the moment - perhaps its worth making it like a mini PD for axers (half the bonus def perhaps?) In the same way that bow dodge is to knux dodge.

Alternatively both could have a bump in 1st dmg over other classes, but that doesnt really influence survivability...only makes the problem worse.

I think most classes are in a good place now relative to each other other than spear, which really has zero use at present (outside GVW where they are fully overpowered). Each has a valuable niche. We've even seen mages used to good effect in world pvp of late, and at the last GVW.

If there was something like a 10-15-20% reduction in damage from all sources, kills would require coordination and it might be worth trying to fight 2v3 or 3v4 because you know superior play can work out in that scenario without instant death for anyone trying to tank 3 melee.

Fully agree. Like before this patch I literally had min damage on Yare when he had tank gear on...and I was rocking an absolutely STACKED archer. But that was fine, I could hit him 100% of the time and wear zombie? He was never a threat to kill me either due to dex and no nuke aura. I knew my role was not to smash him down in 7 hits at A speed like now...but to maintain steady pressure and zombie.

I think I only hit top geared spears for like 10-15% too, but I could absolutely tank 2 or 3 melee at the same time without dex gear. At the moment an archer can literally kill any class 1v1 by just 4thing immediately on zombie proc.

All it meant was that pvp became about groups and coordination - and that was great fun. When nobody can 1v1 another player you both need teamwork to kill people, and can afford to take damage because its easily potted if not coordinated. I have so much footage in this patch of players literally being unable to outpot autoattacks from 3 enemy players.

That's sort of the problem with Archers now. Before the patch - even wearing absolute top level gear - it was something like 20 hitting axers, 12 hitting spears, 10 hitting sword, 8 hitting knux and 5 hitting archer (depending on punch levels they did). So although I had crazy dex advantages on the high STR classes they at least didn't suffer too much damage if they ignored me in order to fight other melee. Now with 8/7/6/5 hitting these classes (from range, with dodge, with feathers, with kiting) I literally don't see any reason anyone would play another class to archer.

Like me and Yare did some 2v2 fights with Stones/Afro and I think I literally did 15 to 20 hits for each one the melee classes did (all chasing each other in circles)....and now archer hits are on a similar level to sword/spear hits.

So having skim read most of these threads, it looks like its gone full circle from Archer soma, to as balanced as it could be (to some it was 'Axe soma' - those who couldn't comprehend that pre-patch all classes had their uses) back to being archer soma.

Is that putting it too bluntly or did I read correctly?
