If you need frogs, then you should stock up now. Why? The main source of this French delicacy is Nightmares. The only way to max INT before the patch was to grind Nightmares, and I really do mean grind. It’s the most God-awful grinding ever, and the only reward is frogs.
After the last, totally evil, slowdown I was killing them with just seven swipes of the light sword powered merely by a Golden Thunder Rod. This was all totally naked, and at lightning speed. The most boring task ever, rewarded only by frogs. No wonder that Int-chasers are now looking at getting at the Valks sooner. To help them I can say that I could take Valks naked at 176, but it was rather dangerous – I was never killed by one, but it was a near thing. In nightmare gear, they can obviously be taken much sooner than 176. The higher INT-chasers are going to migrate from Nightmares to Valks. The drops are GREAT! But they don't drop frogs. This will cripple the frog economy. So stock up while you can. This has been a self-interest post as I’m sitting on every frog I ever acquired. Just waiting for their value to rise :-). Ps. The other awful thing about Nightmares is the egregious trek from Abias to the ruins where they hang out. It’s mind-destroying. Valks are dead easy: TP to guild village, quick trip to the Abias Portal, and there you are.
