Revamped Hero

Have every mob in the game drop an essence, and in turn make Hero armour a bit more sought after by upping stats/defense along with upping stat reguirements to wear it, thus becoming a true hero of Soma.

Dire Wolf essence
individual undead essences (zombie, ghoul, mummy, lich)
xenomorph essence
Reptile essence
etc. etc.

Could even add dungeon into the mix to give either a Hero Shield, or a Hero wep of choice.

Benefits being that an armour isn't necessarily skipped. Spreads people across the maps by hunting unused mobs. Just means that Hero must be worth while by obtaining the essences in the first place.

sort of a hero II - be good if all needed drops were made non-tradable too

Yeah great shout. Every mob essence for hero 2 and untadeable. Make it very hard to get. Titus armour but pink or yellow to stand out. +1

The normal 4 maps for normal armour.

Dungeon for shield.
And maybe dev world or conti for a wep. Make raiding viable

Would depend on its stats tbh i mean where would it fit on the stat scale? Better than bitter worse than titus or above titus? Maybe unique niche stats? Not necessarily as high def as titus. Equal to +3 +4 gear? What do you guys hope to see specifically excluding the skins/colours etc? I would also recommend a recoloured hero skin seeing as its hero and all rather than another skin. Maybe even the ability to pick your colours?

Hard to work out personally the specifics as I'm not so hot on the soma mathematics, but I'd say, considering the difficulty of possibly obtaining the essences becoming the top armour for now. There is a huge space now between 125 and 200 str, and even more so with int.

In terms of bonus stats, maybe double the original hero? 6% Acc/Eva, +4 str/dex? Then people would actually wear it, as it's a top tier upgraded bit of kit then.

in its day, Hero was the best armour in game; if there were to be a Hero II set then this should be better than Titus.

It should also be untradeable, undropable and upgradable to +5 max.

Melee and mage sets would be nice.

Melee and mages should be able to equip Hero II shield (hoping we get one :P) regardless of weapon equipped - two-handed, bow, staff, knuckle - with the penalty of range one limit and a 40%? speed reduction to the weapon while equipped. No speed reduction for one-handed swords and axes users who would normally be able to equip a shield anyway.

It would be nice if the quest were repeatable to allow mix and match sets to be gained - again, this would need to be very hard to do, but made better enough to encourage people to go for it. I would hope it takes months to complete due to rarity. Would hate to see people running around in this in a week :(

Ability to repeat the quest to replace a broken item would also be good.

maybe make it questable such as you need to collect shards from every boss in game and you can only get from the having the last hit, then make it so its as eva or accuracy or something. basically the equivalent of a +5

The only snag with anything boss related is that they're monopolised most of the time, so the average casual player can't get a look in. Would be nice to have the rewards strictly based on PVE, as its not influenced by who has the fastest weapon, or who hits the hardest amongst players - as it'd then be boiled down to yet another PVP issue.

Then again, that is arguably what Soma is about in most people's eyes, but in my opinion, It'd be nice to reminisce on the previous Hero's collection of essences, and to get them less popular maps and mobs used again.

Yeah can't really do it from bosses. The casual player who plays a couple hours a night would never even get 1 essence. Also having them drop rate of legendary might be a bit much. I've played for 2 years and never had a legendary drop ha. But your right in saying it should take months to do and for that it should be very rewarding.

Maybe the wep could be the stats of a top legendary. With each wep having a choice of say +5 str,Dex,int or 4%eva/acc. Which can't be over ridden when upped.

I also like the idea of it being repeatable. If the wep was based in conti. That would definitely make conti sought after.

It would also make every unused mob usuable
