i hate to pour cold water on this...
what happens when someone is full bag weight, and cant accept anything into inventory what happens when someone has no inventory space any changes mean no noob ever gets another drop the people who get a reward for 5% of dmge will be the same ppl already getting the drops, and more not less will come because they know they can tick a boss for 5% what would be good is making something that allows unlimited people around a boss not just 8.

Make bosses give something similar to a daily mark when you inflict say 5% damage to them.
Have an NPC that can swap 2 or 3 of these marks for boss drop items. Have really rare drops maybe cost 5+ marks. Other games use this system and it works...actually gets people grinding bosses like noones business. It also motivates people to attend boss spawns and partake in the community events. People don't need epic drops, they just need to feel like the hour they just spent is going towards something, that it mattered. When it doesn't feel like it is going towards something people stop attending things.
