There's a trend going on at the moment which is;
1 person goes grey deliberately, they will find someone in a house who is healing try and get into a spot where it heals the grey player, that therefore makes the "healer" grey and they constant kill that person until they keep auto reviving, and get penalty and ultimately lose items. I am not saying Healing in town, whilst possibly afk should be allowed - People aren't at the screen 24/7 and may need to go to toilet etc., However it's still an incredibly low thing to do, in order to get items from players. Then having to pay that person to get their items back !! You know who you are, and you should be ashamed. Because of you my friend was going to quit the game. Please change it so if you are grey in town the guard automatically kills you.

It is concerning trend and a downward spiral to the community.
People have started to become Soma vigilantes taking advantage and killing people in this way. If anyone has any concern of people abusing the rules they should report it to a GM, anything else is for their selfish personal gain. +1 to guard killing greys in town.

Well, this is a little bit silly....
Discobiscuit was AFK in a hut healing, if he’s going to run the risk of doing that then what’s wrong with taking advantage of the situation? It’s the same principle as Nakedman who was AFK in the castle and I think it was Kortex who killed him over and over for all his items. The simple simple rule of this is; don’t go AFK, or if you do then you run the risk of being caught out. Don’t make a thread crying about cheating when the game mechanics allow people to stop people cheating on the first place.

its the mechanics of while being grey u warp to town and stay grey also. while it may be a really scummy thing todo. its not against any rules that i can see which is unfortunate.
although if i remember right there was something a while back where 1 guild member stripped another guild member who was afk and isylver got involved *maybe ghostlord*. a sad situation to see regardless if its going to make long term players quit.

This is totally different to joining a guild to killed someone who is afk at a wh. He knew exactly what he was doing and regardless of if he knew the risks or not they are there in the form of being caught and banned or in this situation being killed over and over.
I would say it’s a stark reminder for those who do afk that these are the risks involved.

But you’ve also highlighted that he was cheating because he had been in that hut healing no char for quite a while before it all happened. The fact his tank char had died and was stood by the fountain shows he didn’t just nip for a cuppa or to the toilet. He even admitted himself his brother had been playing and fell asleep so was unattended.

Also if you're going to do this while afk and you know there is a trend of ppl stopping the cheating, put everything in wh? Surely healing there isn't much worthy of being bothered by if dropped?
(Dsoma player so sorry if I missed anything / misunderstood) |

Well a lot of people use +wis items to heal which speed the process up. Disco on the other hand had evasion, accu, weapons, upgrade items and MA items on him which I guess is why the Espada crowd are upset.

How is it being silly?
Yes Disco was AFK, Which i have already stated i do not condone - However you use that to your advantage and become a vigilante GM thinking this is an acceptable thing to do to punish him and use this for your personal gain. Whats wrong with taking advantage? That is like saying, You look after an old women with dementia, but because she forgets its OK to steal her money. The problem is there is malice behind it. Also people use the term "crying" I'm not exactly crying now am i, I'm asking for a game mechanic to be changed so people are not rewarded with personal gain for doing something very shitty. I'm pretty sure Disco would of preferred the warning of going afk by a GM rather than you taking advantage of the situation and doing as you please; You are well aware of the time and effort people put in who play this game and a game with a low UC doing these things just shows a bad spirit of the game. The principal remains of if you can't go afk in town, Where can you go to stay safe? Log out, but should you have too? Yes disco was an idiot and had all his best items on him, but the principal remains.

I haven’t tried to be a vigilant GM at all, I’ve simply used a game mechanic to reward myself. The same as increasing my crafting skill to get a better % at upgrade success, they are both game mechanics.
As for asking for this to be removed I think that’s a terrible idea, the GM’s can’t be online 24/7 to keep an eye on people who abuse rules but atleast with this mechanic ingame players themselves can keep things running smoothly. A warning from a GM still doesn’t harm a player who has afk gained as he will serve a one weeks ban and still have the same stats as he did before, atleast loosing items will make people think twice about going afk as the risk to reward in this case was huge and it didn’t pay off. I’ve done nothing wrong in this, disco was doing something he shouldn’t have and got caught - he also was stupid enough to do it with a full inventory of poor upgraded items and one good axe. I could’ve kept the axe and sold it for a lot more than I sold it back to him for.

Oh come off it Tyrese a game mechanic? seriously? you know full well this is a flaw in the system you are taking advantage of and this is just pure greed end of.
If you really cared about rules so much you wouldn't be selling the items for your own gain. Causing people to go grey and then kill them like 30 times till they are drained as far as I see it it is harassment which as you know is actually against the rules. It is down to the GM's to decide punishment of suspected abuse of the rules, not you or anyone else.

I have never once said it wasn’t out of greed that I did this. I personally gained from one persons stupidity, I honestly don’t see what’s wrong with it? You are treating me like the bad person when it was disco was was afk and got caught out and lost items via no rule breaking.
