As most know, with soma there is a constant power struggle, it's part of soma...to be sure and needs to be there.
However I have also noticed over the years people often quit when one part of the community becomes too dominant over the other, either by controlling spawns, harassing people or constant PKing. The current issue I see with the 2 PK rule is two fold, one it encourages people to run round looking for easy kills as people will just take the kills for 30 minutes of peaceful hunting (Gms probably can't observe this as it takes a while to see the patterns(it may of also died down as people just aren't logging in now due to frustration)). The consequences of being Angel have also become less and less as the years have progressed, so that now people are far more willing to do this (referring to Dsoma now). This combined with K/D ratio means players get fed up with constant harassment in some instances, it seems harassment is no longer possible due to the 2 PK rule? please correct this if I'm wrong. However I suggest a solution, which simply switches PK mode off from every t18-t24, meaning people who only want to PVE for a short period without having to be engaged in PK can do this during this short window. Dominant people can still be dominant for the rest of the time and won't be stopped from doing as they please (unless they want to target the same player all day, which IMO needs to be resolved even with the 2 pk rule in place). Mob stealing would need to be a bannable offense if it is done in an unreasonable manner, but other than that I see no problems with doing this? If it can be coded so that a mob cannot be hit by a person not in the same party as you, that would also be resolved anyway. Let me know your thoughts. Inb4 "being a pussy" lol. Think some mechanics could be changed to suit soma size and usercount Archer trace user is one of the biggest harrasment tools in soma, there's realy no other need to trace a player other than to harass them (maybe allow to trace guild members only) A new feature /apearoffline could be added, soma usercount is small and the /lastonline and /pos commands gives ppl easy access to see if a player is online for them to harass Both them changes would mean a pked has to check spawns, rather than tracing set individuals, a bit more random killing would happen as pkers get board of checking spawns for 1 individual, players would be able to hide more, couple of the un-used monsters may get used by players trying to lay low Being angel is alot easyer, and I think this needs changing slight Moral was planned to have the cap removed so a player cant just sit on the moral cap and kill ppl and have no more moral lose, it's currently way to easy to pk ppl then use unholy waters and be bk moral(May be a little to harsh, but if there going round killing ppl constantly then they deserve to be stuck angel) Not having a rested zone dosnt make much difference as the pkers are caped and probly sat on 100% rested before they start pking They have there own shops and tp, where they can restock, two in fact as gv shop is open constantly now for everyone, so realisticly theres nothing stoping a caped player for being angel forever (lvl cap increase would help, but 10 extra lvls dont last long enough before the cycle starts again)

No. As a PVP orientated game there's only so much PK you can take away. Enough people have quit because of the changes to PK already made.

I would suggest this plus removing the 2 pk rule ideally. Then making it more harsh for angel/devil moral chars. Jah makes some valid points to. It's not really taking away anything other than toxic behavior, you can still kill as much as you like outside of this time.

I personally love having the KD, but I do think change how you gain it. Instead of KD going up with 20 level difference make it 5-10. It would stop the pking of lower levels etc. Not there is anything wrong with that at all btw, if someone wants to run to every spawn and kill all the people he physically can then whose to say that’s wrong?

"ALEXISONFIRE"Remove the K/D ratio. That’s what’s making it so toxic from what I’ve seen Soma has been toxic since well before K:D was introduced. Again removing it would be a negative for the players who play for the limited PK we actually have.

I agree, but if you remember, part of the toxicity is people willing to stay online longer and/or having more players, and therefore being able to control spawns/keep players in town etc, I just think this would offer a way to break this cycle even if just for brief periods. I think 2 per hour would be better, people can linger for half an hour and know they will get 2 kills to buff their k/d, think 1 hour would encourage people to get outside more, or go elsewhere in game (no not aiming that at you btw).

This way it solves the problem of people lingering and if people still cry after this point then they have nothing better to do but to moan about a game (no not aiming that at you btw).
