ID In use / Connection unavailable

Sometimes it freezes and hangs forever but mostly I get the connection to server has been terminated message then when I try to log back in get the I'd is in use message

I have tried clients on different drives and using my wife's netbook. Same thing happens.... :(

edit: just happened to my wife on a her account..... same bug and we got a different char again we could see but not log in as. Pretty serious bug if I can just randomly see peoples char stats ive not tried to delete one bu the button is there....

Logging into the character or deleting it shouldn't be possible. Not sure how it is able to show a character from another account. The only way I can think of is the server memory for a previous account login was not cleared and the server sent that when made a new character.

This happened again last night but I was able to log back in after about 10 mins. Its just happened again now after I ctrl & q to character select then clicked exit :/

I tried resetting my router, different laptops, tethering from my phone. I still get ID is in use or connection to the server unavailable.

I can log in to my other accounts NP at all. This is obviously an issue with the login server spacking out with me logging off. As you can tell I am not a technical expert haha

This is a daily thing.... Just lagged out.... connection terminated.... log in.... ID IS IN USE....... log in again..... see my character.... press enter.....

Now all i get is connection to the server unavailable but I can log on any other account NP

My son goes down for a nap and I've got an hour to play and this happens every time :(

EDIT: Only locked out for 6 minutes today....

I don't want to sound like a douche but it sounds like the cause of the problem is your connection, Do you not have a normal broadband line you could use / look into investing into?

The connection causes the lag out but the issue that needs fixing is the account getting locked out for a period of time.

I'm currently in the North of sweden travelling in my van so unfortunately 4g data roaming is all I have. Bare in mind that I've had full 4g signal every day in Sweden and speed test at 4mbps download so it's not exactly slow considering soma uses like 5kbps max download.

I have no idea how to recreate it. It's random, happens on all my accounts and my laptop and the wife's. Happened tethering from my phone and from my 4g router.

I just don't get why the login server is freaking out and thinking I'm still logged in?

Yeah it just seems strange as lately i have had internet problems and power outages so have had quite a lot of disconnects lately but it seems to log my account out fine. (Not sure if this maybe helpful to you at all fin? if you can correspond my data with hogan's idk? )

Reaching character selection or the loading screen is already past the login server. If the account was still logged in it would repeatedly display the connection to server terminated message box at the account login screen.

That probably makes it a lot harder for you to diagnose as it's in the main server =/

Its definitely to do with the specific character logging off as the few times I've managed to get to character select and log on store characters on Hogan's then ctrl&q to log on hogan to get the wait 4s error then it loops back to server is temporarily unavailable. It's like when it lags out the server isn't realising that the character has fully logged off.

I remember back in the day you'd log on an account and if someone was on there it would kick whoever was on there off. Now it's the I.D IS IN USE error? Or is that just because of this bug

OK, I have managed to re-create what might be the issue.

login to account
select char, go in-game
force a disconnection where server doesn't recv a disconnect (I just kill network to my VM)
re-enable network on VM
login and get connection terminated for first time because account still logged, do it again and then I get the timer message (I increased the timer to 60 seconds on my server for easier testing)
kill the connection to VM again, then re-enable
log back in get connection terminated
log back in again and then it will go to character selection screen but it displays the connection to server unavailable (I am able to log back into character selection on another attempt after the logout delay has passed though).

So the above is not locking me out completely for an extended period of time but hopefully fixing the above will be enough.

I've had this but very rarely and im on a stable adsl. on 1 screen mobs etc dont move client side as if client isnt recognising packets. but if i move the character i can see it move on a second account. i force it closed and try to login. sometimes it will just dc the account, login again get server unavailable. and then be able to get ingame.
but every now and then it will give server unavailable for a full 30 mins.

I'm so glad it's not just me! I don't ever have 2 clients open but can confirm it keeps me in game for a bit as I've died once and always lose hp (happens at abias nm)
