The disassemble skill is in desperate need for an overhaul, its such a usefull skill for a metal crafter to learn and use.
I propose that if it can be crafted then surely you should be able to disassemble it. At present no accessories that are craftable will disassemble, only armour to blood/dark will disassemble, as for weapons we are now able to craft stinger, bwa tier weapons but can only disassemble upto blood bow tier and staffs from staff of sky to thunder rod won't disassemble but are craftable. The ability to gain mats through this skill is badly needed and not fully utilised to its full potential. I know you gm's are very busy with the upcoming patch, but if you get any spare time please could you take a look at making all craftable items able to be disassembled, thank you.

I tried to disassemble a lot of old "gen" attack intense weapons the other week, judges, homs, rippers etc as NPCing them felt wrong, thought id get a few mats but couldn't disassemble which sucked so i'd agree, neat feature which isn't used

All craftable items and there dropped equivalent to be made able to disassemble, this would allow the soma crafters an extra way to source greatly needed mats.

The disassemble is fine as it is already regarding mats back.......
Disassemble gives back one less mat than it required to make if it took 8 metal to make it gives back 7 metal, it if took 15 wood to make it gives 14 wood back etc If an item requires metal, wood, leather, cloth it’s rng which mat type you get back but the amount is 1 less than used to craft the item. The disassemble skill is underused and in need of a overhaul to give players another way to get mats back. You can craft gorshak tier weapons and bitter bone armour yet you can only disassemble upto a certain tier and even then not everything will still disassemble :(

the above would allow everything to be disassembled and give worthwhile value to drops that are currently just left on the floor. the prime driver was to get more crafting mats into the game. it was also suggested that maybe up-graded items could give back a percentage of the up-grade mats too....

My suggestion would just involve adding the items into the list of items already able to disassemble that are not currently able to be disassemble, as decent of a suggested way that you have put forward Mickyc I feel would involve a complete overhaul and be more time consuming......
I still stand by the present way the disassemble works at the anvil, just the list of items needs increasing.

Just been testing with npc weapons in tyt, merc and abias majority of times it gives back same amount of mats needed ie 10 metal used to make the weapon then now and then it gives less back that where used. It also threw up on occasion old cloth when no cloth(linen) was used in the recipe which I found strange, never happened before to me.
Could you please look into making all craftable items and there dropped equivalent to be able to disassemble, thanks.

tbh, as there is no particular shortage of copper, leather and the usual mats recovered from disassemble.. maybe a different thing to look at is..... with many upgraded items now ingame... rubbish toes and virtually useless and worthless weapons with a few +'s on them.. lets disassemble those and maybe get 2-3 eps back/ ll's/ frogs/ small ruby or 2.. etc etc
tho.. with horde mode and cap increase 'on the horizon' that would and should take priority over any disassemble changes
