RONA |
On the death of Esoma, like many others I suspect, I migrated to World of Warcraft (WOW), choosing to play in a non-PK environment. It was better than Soma in two respects:-
1. Superb Grapics. 2. Multiple servers where you could choose a PK environment or a non-PK. However, Soma beat it in other respects:- 1. Far more intellectually challenging. 2. No Subscription. Again, like many others, I returned to Soma on its current resurrection, finding its challenge superior to that of WOW. This is notwithstanding the fact that I deplore PK in that I see it mirroring the underclass of the real world. Obviously, it would be unrealistic to ask our Blue Gods to provide multiple servers, but there are ways, already in the game, to prevent PKing where there are level differentials or in the case of attacks on guards. A bit (or a lot) of tweeking would be necessary to give protection to individual characters that wanted it (and were prepared to pay for it, see below). It would bring Soma onto a par with WOW if we had a means of giving that same protection to players who specifically did not wish to be involved in PK. This would involve the Blue Gods in some extra work and effort, for which I, and I hope others, would be prepared to pay. WOW subscription is currently £9.99/month, and I would be quite happy to pay that; others may think it’s a bit steep, and perhaps a different thread would be needed to fix it. Immunity could be paid for by the month, at the Soma store. All a Blue God would need to do is press a button (or whatever) then PM the donor to say he has PK immunity until [date/time]. Renewals (to extend the period) would be the responsibility of the player and would need to be made a week in advance of the end of the paid-for immunity, and the Blue God would send a PM extending the original period. Of course, it could also be possible to pay for longer periods than a month, possibly at a discount. Immunity would be confined to a single character, so players could have PKers and non-PKers. Please discuss.

I understand a players ego maybe hurt when they are pk’d but there is no stat or item loss as there was in esoma.
It really isn’t a real problem. When i’m killed, i use res scroll x2 and play on. |

Actually Rona is being serious and is a genuine person, father and even grand father and is respected by those in those that know him.
At least he knows how not to be a dick or throw his toys out the pram. I dare say he has more constructive and meaningful ideas that illustrates a balanced position then say... you Sam? Feel the burn.

"FOXTRCK"Good luck with that. This isn’t cs:go you know or league of legends. Or even a game that has any PvP content at all if you carebears had your way... Why aren't you all playing My little pony together? (serious question BTW) |

"VALASI""SAM0""FOXTRCK"Good luck with that. This isn’t cs:go you know or league of legends. Because I've done that in the other thread, only for him to still ignore every point I make, read through it if you get bored. I'll stick to ignoring him until he has something worth replying too
